What is Branch Manager Islamic – MMBL?

As a Branch Manager (BM) Islamic at MMBL, you will be responsible for driving asset and liability business growth, financial planning, and ensuring branch profitability in a Shariah-compliant manner. You will lead and inspire your team to meet business objectives, maintain service excellence, and uphold compliance with Islamic banking principles and SBP regulations. This role demands strategic leadership, strong business acumen, and a customer-centric mindset to ensure smooth operations and high-performing teams.


What Branch Manager Islamic – MMBL does?

  • Assist the Regional Business Manager/Unit Head in preparing the annual business plan for branch asset and liability portfolios and other Shariah-compliant banking products.
  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with asset and liability clients.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets for liabilities, Takaful, and other products.
  • Set realistic staff targets and deadlines while conducting periodic performance reviews.
  • Conduct daily reviews of branch and individual asset portfolios, identifying and addressing performance gaps in line with bank policies.
  • Ensure asset and liability portfolio targets are consistently achieved and performance indicators stay within assigned benchmarks.
  • Promote cross-selling of all bank products and services through regular training and team capacity building.
  • Oversee smooth daily branch operations through routine checks and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to all operational policies, regulatory guidelines, and Shariah compliance standards.
  • Maintain a professional and efficient work environment within the branch.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and proactively manage collections to maintain CCR, PAR, and write-offs within assigned benchmarks.
  • Develop and implement collection and recovery strategies aligned with bank SOPs, ethical practices, and Shariah-compliant regulations.
  • Manage branch revenue streams and ensure sustainable profitability through quality business generation.
  • Conduct regular reviews of branch P&L to identify areas for OSS (Overall Sales & Services) improvement.
  • Present monthly performance updates and strategies to the Regional Business Manager.
  • Drive excellence in customer service delivery while fostering diversity and inclusion within the branch environment.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop branch staff to enhance their technical and Islamic banking knowledge.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate with HRBP for training and professional development programs.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by management to support business goals and operational excellence.


What are we looking for, and what does it take to be a Branch Manager Islamic - MMBL?

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution (Master’s or Bachelor’s in Management Sciences, Commerce, Accounting & Finance, Economics, Agriculture, or Islamic Finance preferred).
  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant work experience, with at least one year in Islamic banking preferred.


Essential Skills

  • Strong customer service and team leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent selling, negotiation, and convincing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective collection management and follow-up ability.
  • Fluency in the local language.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Sound understanding of Islamic finance principles and Shariah compliance.


Desirable Skills

  • Proficiency in business planning, retail banking, and Islamic banking operations.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements, including SBP Islamic banking regulations and Shariah Advisor approvals.
  • Certification in Islamic Banking is highly desirable.
