Job Purpose

Responsible for managing firms’ business development initiatives, preparing proposals, implementing all marketing strategies, and managing brand application in accordance with company standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

General

  • Ensures clear, accurate and cohesive communication of firm vision, mission and values in written and graphic content.
  • Act as the brand steward, ensuring that all materials - digital, print, social media, and proposals - align with the firm’s identity and objectives.
  • Coordinates with firm leadership, project teams and across offices to support business marketing needs.
  • Maintains electronic marketing materials and internal homepage in accordance with company standards.
  • Prepares and updates weekly office meeting files; keeps project funding, conference lists, leads, proposals, and other marketing actions current.
  • Maintains company lists of professional engineering licenses, professional registrations, corporate and professional memberships, conference attendance and participation.
  • Other tasks requested by the firm.

Proposals and Business Development

  • Manages and prepares engineering proposals including coordinating content from engineering staff and subconsultants, schedule milestones, and delivery. May require coordinating and communicating internally for multiple deadlines on multiple projects.
  • Creating and upholding proposal standards and templates for ease of proposal preparation and consistency.
  • Obtain representative project descriptions from Project Managers as projects are completed.
  • Work with all staff to maintain up-to-date resumes and for updating content as needed.
  • Monitors RFQ/RFP opportunities from online and other sources and distributes to Leadership Team and Service Group Leaders for direction. Manages and uses firms go-no go system.
  • Maintain updated tracking list for all opportunities.
  • Employs marketing analytics to import data from social media and website traffic and report metrics to Leadership Team and Board of Directors. Adjusts approach based on data to improve results.
  • Leads quality control efforts on all materials used by the firm. This includes reviews by project team members.

Brand Standards, Templates, and Marketing Literature

  • Manages and works with marketing consultants and professional photographers to create engaging visuals.
  • Uses firm equipment to take photographs of project sites and staff as requested.
  • Operates aerial drone to capture aerial photography of completed projects and projects under construction. Training for drone operation will be provided as needed.
  • Manages company’s promotional materials; includes overseeing purchase of giveaway items, company merchandise, branded safety gear, etc.
  • Coordinates with internal groups including the events and safety committees.
  • Maintains and updates firms templates including letters, memos, reports, resumes, marketing literature, power points, etc.
  • Manages and updates company internal homepage (Microsoft Sharepoint) for templates and other documents.
  • Maintains company marketing standards to promote brand recognition and market presence.
  • Follows, maintains, and updates UE marketing plan.

Advertising and Trade Associations

  • Tracks and keeps all advertising efforts current including publications, press releases, sponsorship, etc.
  • Maintains and prepares marketing literature, brochures and pamphlets to maintain presence in the marketplace. This includes coordination and follow up with engineering staff for technical project information.
  • Tracks all trade shows, conferences, hotel reservations, and technical sessions that firm attends including signing up for booths, attendance, and speaking opportunities.
  • Prepares and manages all materials for use at professional trade shows and career fairs including maintenance and tracking of exhibition materials, promotional handouts, giveaway items, business cards, etc.
  • Attends trade shows as requested for set up/take down of exhibit and/or to meet and greet existing and potential clients when UE is exhibiting.

Social Media

  • Works with outside consultant and internal staff to maintain up-to-date website.
  • Maintains firm social media accounts.
  • Creates marketing content, including blog posts, social media posts, press releases, newsletters, advertisements, engineers’ week and other promotional materials.
  • Manages and prepares quarterly newsletter including collecting information, content and company events. Content may include photography at UE professional and social events.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is not responsible for directly supervising employees.

Education

Associate degree (minimum), preferred in the fields of Marketing, Advertising, Communications or related field.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a professional office environment.
  • Ability to think both creatively and strategically while managing multiple project responsibilities with varying priorities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to own quality, appearance and consistency of final deliverable.
  • Comfortable working independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Maintains valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (including Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, Sharepoint), website software, PDF software (including Bluebeam), graphic design products (Indesign) and other related software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $73,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
