Job Purpose
The Brand and Content Producer is responsible for producing high-quality marketing content that supports KAUST’s institutional objectives and brand positioning. The role produces audience-focused content for a wide range of digital and print channels, ensures alignment with KAUST’s tone of voice and style guidelines, and manages content projects end-to-end from concept through publication and performance reporting.
Working under the direction of the Brand Marketing Manager, this role is a key contributor to KAUST’s content marketing strategy and campaign delivery, helping to translate complex KAUST stories into compelling, accurate, and accessible narratives for global audiences.
Major Accountabilities
Content Production, Delivery and Reporting
• Research, write, create, and edit high-quality marketing content aligned with KAUST priorities and tailored for diverse audiences.
• Produce content across formats such as features, case studies, profiles, campaign copy, brand ads, video scripts, web stories, corporate publications, and social media narratives.
• Generate ideas for new storytelling formats, content series, and high-impact activations that elevate KAUST’s brand.
• Translate KAUST’s mission and work in research, education, innovation, and community impact into accessible, engaging narratives.
• Proactively identify and pitch story opportunities that strengthen brand visibility and support campaign and institutional goals.
• Contribute to campaign ideation by providing content-driven insights into audiences, channels, and narrative angles.
• Provide performance insights and reporting to evaluate content impact and guide future optimization.
Brand Voice, Quality and Editorial Standards
• Actively champion and apply KAUST’s tone of voice, messaging framework, and style guide across all outputs.
• Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with KAUST brand guidelines.
• Maintain high editorial and factual accuracy standards, ensuring content is credible, audience-appropriate, and aligned with institutional positioning.
• Continuously seek innovations in storytelling, format, and channel-specific writing to improve engagement and impact.
Content Project Management
• Manage content delivery from briefing and concept development through drafting, approvals, publishing, and post-campaign evaluation.
• Build and maintain content schedules that reflect realistic timelines, priorities, and team capacity.
• Track tasks and dependencies using Asana (and other tools) to keep stakeholders informed of progress and risks.
• Collaborate closely with PR, digital, social, design, video, and internal communications teams to ensure integrated campaign delivery.
• Facilitate legal, policy, reputational, and accuracy reviews; ensure sensitive content follows required approval pathways and stakeholder sign-offs. Digital and Web Content
• Ensure online content adheres to web best practices including accuracy, accessibility, usability, and SEO optimization while maintaining brand consistency.
• Support content updates that improve website search performance, clarity, and currency.
• Work with digital and web management colleagues to refine content structures, taxonomy, and on-page optimization for discoverability.
Other duties as assigned by the Brand Marketing Manager.
Person Requirements
Competencies
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong narrative judgment.
• Ability to translate complex topics (science, education, innovation) into clear, engaging stories.
• Strong people skills to collaborate in a team, and also manage the flow of deadline-critical work. • Strong stakeholder management and customer service skills (including providing specialist advice, and applying influence to present work to stakeholders to gain buy-in). Strong attention to detail, including accuracy, grammar, and brand consistency.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple content projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Experience in an in-house marketing communications team, or agency-side team (PR/Communications, Advertising, or Creative).
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field. Master's degree Preferred.
Experience
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in content production, technical writing, editing, and copywriting for projects across various industries and platforms
