Job Summary:

The Brand Manager / Senior Brand Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and managing marketing strategies that drive growth, market share, and profitability for the JustFoodForDogs portfolio of products. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical capability, and creative leadership to bring the brand to life across all consumer touchpoints. The Brand Manager / Senior Brand Manager partners closely with cross-functional teams—including Product Development, Sales, Finance, and Operations—to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong marketing and brand activation skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders. Candidate must have a strong track record of success in building brands, be able to work in a team environment, and be passionate about working in an entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Planning

  • Help lead development of annual brand marketing plans including business objectives, marketing strategies, and tactical plans to deliver on company goals.
  • Monitor market trends, consumer insights, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and inform strategy.
  • Act as an owner of brand positioning, messaging, and identity consistency across all platforms and materials.

Marketing Execution

  • Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across paid, earned, and owned media channels that drive consumer acquisition and retention.
  • Develop shopper marketing plans to support key pet specialty, grocery and mass retailers.
  • Manage outside agencies including packaging design agency, advertising agency and public relations agency.
  • Manage packaging design updates, product claims, and brand guidelines to ensure cohesive visual and verbal brand expression.

Business Intelligence

  • Manage marketing and wholesale advertising and promotion budgets.
  • Analyze brand and category performance data to optimize pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate effectiveness and ROI of all marketing programs.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Product Development to support innovation and renovation pipelines.
  • Align with Sales to develop effective retail programs and trade marketing initiatives.
  • Work with Operations to ensure demand planning and supply chain alignment with marketing plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 4–7 years of progressive marketing or brand management experience, ideally in the CPG industry. Consulting experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, consumer insights, and marketing mix development.
  • Proven experience managing P&L and delivering brand growth.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Circana) and digital analytics tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment.
