Job Summary

Sliick Wax, launched exclusively at Walmart in 2021, has redefined the at-home waxing industry with salon-quality formulas, fun scents, vibrant colors, and sustainable innovation. Now a national and international brand, Sliick targets Gen Z and Millennial customers with youthful packaging and easy-to-use, professional-grade products that make waxing fun.

We are seeking a passionate and strategic Brand Manager to lead Sliick Wax’s product development, brand growth, and cross-functional execution. This role combines product innovation, consumer insight, and brand strategy to ensure Sliick continues to lead the category and expand its global presence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Development & Innovation

  • Lead the creation and execution of new product concepts, formulas, packaging, and limited-edition collections.
  • Partner with R&D, packaging, and operations teams to deliver salon-quality, sustainable products.
  • Anticipate and identify new trends in beauty, DIY, and body care to keep Sliick ahead of consumer demand.

2. Brand Strategy & Growth

  • Define and execute brand strategy across product, packaging, and marketing touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with leadership to expand distribution, enhance consumer loyalty, and drive global growth.
  • Ensure brand positioning and storytelling resonate with Gen Z/Millennial audiences.

3. Project Management

  • Manage timelines and workflows for product launches, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (marketing, design, operations, sales) to align launch strategies.
  • Proactively problem-solve challenges and adjust plans to achieve business objectives.

4. Consumer Insights & Market Research

  • Analyze market data, competitor activity, and cultural trends to identify opportunities.
  • Gather consumer insights through focus groups, social listening, and product testing.
  • Translate insights into actionable product and brand strategies.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with internal departments (marketing, digital, sourcing, regulatory, operations, sales) and external partners (vendors, agencies, retailers) to bring products to market.
  • Act as the brand voice across all functions, ensuring alignment on vision, execution, and messaging.

6. Budget & Vendor Management

  • Oversee budgets for product development and brand initiatives.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure sustainable, cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external vendors, manufacturers, and packaging partners.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Cosmetic Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in brand management, product development, or beauty/personal care.
  • Proven success managing multiple product launches and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of retail (Walmart or mass retail experience a plus).
  • Skills:
  • Strong brand storytelling, strategic thinking, and trend-spotting abilities.
  • Excellent project management skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functionally.
  • Understanding of sustainability practices and consumer-driven innovation.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in body care, skincare, or depilatory product categories.
  • Knowledge of digital-first marketing strategies (social, influencer, UGC).
  • Familiarity with global market requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Asana, Monday, Smartsheet).

Working Environment

  • Fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment.
  • Full-time, Los Angeles–based role with cross-functional interaction across global teams.
  • Fully on-site, no hybrid option
