Job Title: Director of Marketing

Reports to: CEO

Location: Michigan - Hybrid/Remote

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 + discretionary performance bonus opportunity

Position Objective:

The Marketing Director will lead the strategic development, execution, and optimization of all marketing initiatives across 42 Degrees Processing’s product portfolio—most notably the Fresh Coast brand. This role will define and drive the brand identity, digital presence, and market engagement strategies to increase awareness, loyalty, and sales.

The ideal candidate is a brand-minded digital marketer who understands the 4 P’s (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) and thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Strategy & Management

  • Develop and execute brand strategies for Fresh Coast and other 42 Degrees product lines to strengthen market position and consumer connection.
  • Lead the creation and evolution of brand guidelines, visual identity, and storytelling across all channels.
  • Partner with sales, operations, and leadership to ensure brand alignment and consistency across markets and touchpoints.

Digital Marketing & Content

  • Oversee digital strategy including web, email, social, SEO/SEM, and paid digital campaigns.
  • Create and manage engaging content that highlights product differentiation, category education, and community engagement.
  • Utilize analytics tools to track KPIs, measure ROI, and optimize campaigns for conversion and engagement.

Product Marketing & Go-to-Market Execution

  • Lead launch strategy for new product lines and SKUs—pricing, packaging, distribution, and promotional planning.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align production and marketing timelines with retail and wholesale partners.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.

Budgeting & Performance

  • Develop and manage annual marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources across campaigns and initiatives.
  • Track key metrics and deliver performance reports to leadership, identifying areas of opportunity and improvement.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build and manage relationships with creative, digital, and PR agencies as needed.
  • Support internal teams with marketing tools, sales collateral, and education.
  • Champion the Fresh Coast brand voice internally and externally.
  • Lead the creation and evolution of brand guidelines, visual identity, and storytelling across all channels.
  • Partner with sales, operations, and leadership to ensure brand alignment and consistency across markets and touchpoints.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of progressive marketing leadership experience, ideally in consumer packaged goods, beverage, or cannabis.
  • Demonstrated success in digital marketing, brand building, and campaign execution.
  • Strong analytical mindset and comfort with digital analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategy with hands-on execution in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Passion for innovation and emerging categories—especially cannabis and wellness.
  • Must pass background check per state cannabis regulation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the cannabis industry a plus.
