Job Title: Maintenance Engineer – Electrical (Manufacturing)

Summary:
The Maintenance Engineer – Electrical is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, reliability, and efficiency of all electrical and electronic systems, machinery, and equipment within the manufacturing plant. The role involves preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and support continuous production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of all electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in production lines, panels, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company policies.
- Maintain and update maintenance logs, checklists, and documentation.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure minimum downtime and efficient operations.
- Assist in installation, commissioning, and calibration of new machines and electrical systems.
- Monitor and manage energy consumption; suggest energy-saving initiatives.
- Maintain and oversee operation of PLCs, motors, drives (VFDs), and automation equipment.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and external contractors during major repairs or projects.
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules and improvement projects.
- Support continuous improvement (Kaizen, TPM, Lean) activities related to maintenance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)
- Experience:
- 0–2 years (for Junior Engineer / Graduate Trainee)
- 3–5 years (for Maintenance Engineer)
- Industry: Preferably manufacturing, process, or industrial sector
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control circuits, and industrial automation
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, drives, motors, and instrumentation
- Understanding of safety standards and electrical codes
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Team player with strong communication and coordination skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance management systems (CMMS preferred)
Working Conditions:
- Work environment: Manufacturing / Plant floor
- Shifts: May require rotational shifts and on-call support during breakdowns
- Physical requirements: Should be comfortable working around heavy equipment and electrical systems
