Job Summary:
The Building and Grounds Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all company facilities and grounds are clean, safe, functional, and well-maintained. This position coordinates and performs routine maintenance, inspects buildings and outdoor areas, oversees repairs, and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
Job responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
- Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance and repairs
- Maintain lighting, doors, restrooms, and common areas
- Coordinate contractor/vendor services for specialized repairs
- Maintain parking lots, sidewalks, and landscaping
- Oversee seasonal needs (e.g., snow removal, leaf cleanup)
- Manage signage and exterior lighting
- Cleaning/janitorial tasks
- Order and manage cleaning supplies
- Ensure cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, and high-traffic areas
- Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies
- Conduct routine safety inspections and address hazards
- Ensure the building complies with OSHA, fire, and local building codes
- Maintain emergency equipment (fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, etc.)
- Track maintenance requests and prioritize tasks
- Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and vendor contracts
- Help plan and execute renovations
- Work with contractors and vendors to ensure timely and quality work
- Monitor budgets for maintenance and improvement projects
- Ensure proper drainage and irrigation systems are working
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- 2+ years in facility or building maintenance
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
- Ability to read blueprints and safety documentation (a plus)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and operate tools/equipment
Working Conditions
- Indoor/outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- On-call availability for emergencies
- Standing, bending, lifting, and operating machinery/tools required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
