Building General Superintendent
What we are looking for:
Aldridge is seeking General Superintendent to provide overall on-site administrative and technical management on construction project sites.
What you’ll do:
- Supervise and manage all aspects of onsite construction activities for all trades to ensure project(s) is (are) constructed in accordance with contract documents, budget and schedule. May include interfacing with client representatives, Architect and Engineer representatives, subcontractors, and other contractors, etc.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions for all subcontractor trades includes (safety oversight, scheduling, quality, etc.).
- Create and implement site logistics plans.
- Supervise project foremen, craft employees, and/or subcontractors as required by the contract.
- Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
- Ability to identify conflicts between trades during shop drawing and submittal process.
- Plan and specification coordination with architects, engineers and our project management team.
- Provide input to assist project management in developing and implementing site specific safety plans, overall critical path project schedule and individual subcontractor work plans.
- Drive three week look ahead schedule process with all subcontractor trades.
- Conducting regular safety inspections and enforcing compliance.
- Tracking all subcontractor critical purchases and delivery dates to prevent project delays.
- Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks related to safety, schedule, quality, and budget for AE’s work and all trades.
- Understanding all scopes and contracts related to subcontractors’ work. Ability to identify scope gaps and avoid cost overruns.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Perform additional assignments per Supervisor’s direction.
Who you are:
- Proven building construction technical experience and ability to demonstrate clear understanding of each facet of a building construction project (i.e. concrete, masonry, metals, water proofing, openings, finishes, specialties, MEPs, security, earthwork, exteriors improvements, utilities, wastewater, demolition, etc.).
- A trade education, associate degree, or a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field may be required or preferred.
- Minimum of eight years construction management and/or project foreman experience in similar role.
- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills.
- Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment to help grow the organization.
- Ability to promote teamwork and open communication on the project site.
- Highly motivated with strong skills in time management and prioritization.
- Creative and results-oriented with a sense of urgency.

What we offer:
Subject to local Union pay rates per the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for a company vehicle and bonus. This is a union position and provides union benefits.
