Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Building Manager to oversee the daily operations and management of our residential property. This role involves ensuring the property’s maintenance, safety, tenant relations, and administrative functions run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a customer-focused attitude, and a comprehensive understanding of property management regulations, including Fair Housing laws and Section 8 programs. As a Building Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for tenants, vendors, and staff, fostering a positive living or working environment while maintaining the property's integrity and value.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee property operations, including maintenance, repairs, and facilities management to ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.
  • Manage leasing activities by coordinating property tours, upselling available units, and processing applications using property management software such as Appfolio and BuildingLink.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations such as Fair Housing laws, Landlord-Tenant law, and Section 8 guidelines.
  • Handle tenant relations by addressing concerns promptly, managing conflict resolution effectively, and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Administer administrative tasks including data entry, filing, contract management, and legal documentation related to leases and property agreements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs and coordinate with vendors or in-house staff for timely repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of rent payments, lease agreements, legal documents, and service requests using property management systems like Appfolio.
  • Facilitate communication with tenants regarding construction and community updates via phone etiquette and professional customer relationship management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles with familiarity in office procedures such as filing, data entry, and contract administration.
  • Knowledge of LIHTC programs, Section 8 housing regulations, Fair Housing laws, landlord-tenant law, and legal administrative processes.
  • Proficiency in property management software including Yardi, OneSite or similar platforms; experience with CMMS is a plus.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict management situations diplomatically.
  • Excellent negotiation skills for lease agreements and contract negotiations.
  • Experience in facilities management or property maintenance coordination is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
