Building Surveyor

Job Title: Building Surveyor

Job Summary:
A Building Surveyor is responsible for inspecting, evaluating, and reporting on the condition of buildings to ensure they are safe, structurally sound, and compliant with regulations. They provide advice on construction, maintenance, and repair work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
  • Assess structural condition, defects, and safety risks
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for repairs or improvements
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and standards
  • Monitor construction and renovation projects
  • Advise clients on maintenance, restoration, and property improvements
  • Review building plans and specifications
  • Identify potential hazards and ensure health & safety standards are met
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and contractors

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, or related field
  • Knowledge of construction methods and building regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication and report-writing skills
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and software
