Bus Driver

Job Summary

The School Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students, school staff, and authorized passengers to and from school and other approved destinations while ensuring compliance with UAE traffic laws, school transportation policies, and health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate the assigned school bus in accordance with UAE traffic regulations and school transportation policies.
• Transport students to and from school, field trips, sporting events, and other approved activities according to the assigned schedule.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including checking brakes, lights, tires, mirrors, fuel, engine fluids, emergency exits, first-aid kit, and fire extinguisher.
• Ensure the bus is clean, hygienic, and well-maintained at all times.
• Ensure all students board and disembark safely.
• Maintain discipline and order inside the bus and report any behavioral issues to the Transport Supervisor or school management.
• Ensure no student is left unattended inside the vehicle by conducting a thorough inspection after each trip.
• Immediately report accidents, traffic violations, vehicle breakdowns, or mechanical defects to the Transport Supervisor.
• Coordinate effectively with the assigned Bus Attendant/Nanny to ensure student safety during boarding and alighting.
• Maintain accurate trip records, fuel logs, mileage records, and vehicle inspection reports as required.
• Comply with all UAE road safety regulations and school transport guidelines.
• Attend safety meetings, training sessions, and emergency drills as required.
• Represent the school professionally and maintain courteous communication with students, parents, and school staff.

Qualifications

• High School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Valid UAE Heavy Bus Driving License (Category 6).
• Clean driving record with no major traffic violations.
• Defensive driving certification is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience driving heavy buses in the UAE.
• Previous experience as a school bus driver is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with UAE roads, traffic regulations, and school transportation procedures.

• Excellent driving and vehicle handling skills.
• Strong knowledge of UAE traffic laws and road safety regulations.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond appropriately in emergencies.
• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and inspection procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with transport coordinators, bus attendants, and school staff.

Working Conditions

• Early morning and afternoon shifts based on school transportation schedules.
• May be required to work during school events, educational trips, and extracurricular activities.
• Required to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
• Good vision, hearing, and physical fitness to safely operate a heavy vehicle.
• Ability to assist students during boarding, alighting, or emergency situations if required.

Mandatory Requirements

• Valid UAE Heavy Bus Driving License (Category 6).
• Medical fitness certificate as required by UAE authorities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all school and regulatory clearances required for school transportation staff.

Pay: AED2,800.00 - AED2,850.00 per month
