Bus Mechanic

Job Overview:

Care Group of Institutions is seeking a skilled and dedicated Bus Mechanic for a full-time position in Tiruchirappalli. This mid-level role requires a minimum of 1 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably with buses. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the college buses through timely maintenance and repair work.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Vehicle Maintenance (Mandatory): Proven expertise in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing buses and heavy vehicles.
• Mechanical Skills: Strong knowledge of engine systems, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, and other bus components.
• Preventive Maintenance: Ability to perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns.
• Troubleshooting: Skilled in identifying mechanical issues quickly and accurately, and implementing effective solutions.
• Safety Compliance: Understanding of safety standards and regulations related to vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Time Management: Ability to manage time efficiently to complete repairs and maintenance within scheduled timelines.
• Record Keeping: Experience in maintaining detailed logs of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
• Communication Skills: Effective communication with drivers, supervisors, and vendors regarding vehicle status and repair needs.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform regular inspections, servicing, and repairs on college buses to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues accurately and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Conduct preventive maintenance activities, including oil changes, brake checks, engine tune-ups, and tire inspections.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations related to vehicle maintenance.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work, parts used, and service schedules.
• Coordinate with bus drivers and transportation staff to schedule repairs and minimize downtime.
• Order and manage inventory of spare parts and tools required for maintenance tasks.
• Report any major issues or concerns to the transportation supervisor promptly.
• Assist in emergency roadside repairs when necessary to ensure minimal disruption in service.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹9,000.00 - ₹10,000.00 per month
