Position Title: Mechanic Helper

Department: Maintenance
Wage: $26.33/hr +4% night premium, if applicable
Schedule: Must be able to work all shifts: mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts.

Mechanic Helper Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in inspecting and refilling automobile oil and fluids
- Must be 21 years of age, with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess or have the ability to complete company provided Class B CDL training in 90 days.
- Must maintain Class B CDL at all times of employment.
- Must possess satisfactory driving record meeting insurance standards.
- Must pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, back screen, drug screen, and complete a background check.
- Must possess stable and verifiable work history.
- Must have the ability to learn Fleet Mechanic and maintenance procedures.
- Must have the ability to obtain necessary tools and use various shop tools and equipment.
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
Mechanic Helper Essential Duties:
- Regular and predictable performance of essential job functions.
- Change and refill bus oils and fluids.
- Inspect high wear items on entire bus.
- Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation.
- Inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary.
- Clean and lubricate fittings as needed.
- Complete bus and fleet safety inspections.
- Document work performed on repair work orders.
- Ensure that the fleet service center is clean and presentable.
- Other related duties as assigned.
