Business Advisor

Overview
CITEC Consulting Group provides consulting and training services to help North Country businesses grow. A part of the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), we work across the seven counties of New York State's North Country region, mostly with small and medium-sized manufacturers, but other businesses and organizations as well. We are seeking to add a Business Advisor consultant to our team.

Job Summary

The Business Advisor supports CITEC’s clients by providing consulting services and training in the areas of Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies, Advanced Technologies, Project Management, and Safety and Health. In addition, the Business Advisor performs ongoing customer relationship management and outreach in CITEC’s geographic region to maintain and grow client relationships. As a general guideline, 65% of the Business Advisor’s time will be spent on delivering training and consulting services and 35% will be spent on business development activities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with clients regularly through multi-channel outreach to identify growth opportunities, deliver solutions, and manage client satisfaction.
  • Identify and develop new client business, while cultivating and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Assess, develop, and deliver services, programs, and strategies that will support clients’ operational and workforce development needs and assist in solving their business challenges.
  • Perform administrative work associated with developing and recording new and existing business, such as drafting accurate contracts utilizing standardized templates and making entries in the Salesforce system to maintain accurate client and project information.
  • Manage CITEC’s retainer projects to include scheduling and attending meetings, taking minutes, and other related tasks that may be necessary.
  • Partner with the Marketing team to create effective strategies that will increase awareness of and promote CITEC’s services across the region.
  • Seek grant and funding opportunities for clients whenever possible.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned or needed.

Preferred Qualifications and Education

  • Minimum of five years of business and operations experience with increasing levels of responsibility in a Manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales, business development, and client service.
  • Demonstrated consulting and training delivery experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set and meet goals, take initiative, self-motivate, and manage projects.
  • Collaborative work style with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to deliver best-in-class service to clients.
  • Engaging and effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills that foster and develop lasting business relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective job aid and/or training material and documentation.
  • Strong computer and technology skills, organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to travel extensively regionally.

Authorization to work in the United States.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
