DESCRIPTION

Join Amazon's AZIM (Amazon Intermodal) team as a Business Analyst driving data-driven decision-making across our rapidly scaling rail freight network. You'll build analytics capabilities that power pricing strategy, operational efficiency, and customer experience as we grow toward our vision of becoming a multi-billion dollar revenue business while delivering industry-leading cost savings and sustainability benefits.

Key job responsibilities
1) Business Analysis & Decision Support (40%)

Design and implement cost modeling frameworks and financial analytics systems to support strategic pricing and network optimization decisions
Develop automated reporting pipelines tracking key business metrics including revenue performance, operational efficiency, and customer service levels
Build profitability analysis tools that balance multiple business objectives across internal operations and external customer segments

2) Create executive dashboards providing visibility into business performance against strategic targets
Operational Analytics & Automation (35%)

Develop monitoring and alerting systems for operational performance metrics across the transportation network
Build root cause analysis frameworks to identify improvement opportunities and measure automation impact
Design efficiency tracking mechanisms for key operational processes and workflows
Create predictive analytics capabilities to enable proactive intervention and continuous improvement

3) Customer & Growth Analysis (25%)

Develop customer-facing analytics supporting service level tracking and performance transparency
Build segmentation and prioritization frameworks to support business growth initiatives
Create operational efficiency metrics supporting scalability across customer segments
Design analytics supporting customer retention and satisfaction measurement

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1+ years of complex Excel VBA macros writing experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
Experience with SQL or ETL
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with Tableau
Experience using very large datasets

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
