Join Amazon's AZIM (Amazon Intermodal) team as a Business Analyst driving data-driven decision-making across our rapidly scaling rail freight network. You'll build analytics capabilities that power pricing strategy, operational efficiency, and customer experience as we grow toward our vision of becoming a multi-billion dollar revenue business while delivering industry-leading cost savings and sustainability benefits.
Key job responsibilities
1) Business Analysis & Decision Support (40%)
- Design and implement cost modeling frameworks and financial analytics systems to support strategic pricing and network optimization decisions
- Develop automated reporting pipelines tracking key business metrics including revenue performance, operational efficiency, and customer service levels
- Build profitability analysis tools that balance multiple business objectives across internal operations and external customer segments
2) Create executive dashboards providing visibility into business performance against strategic targets
Operational Analytics & Automation (35%)
- Develop monitoring and alerting systems for operational performance metrics across the transportation network
- Build root cause analysis frameworks to identify improvement opportunities and measure automation impact
- Design efficiency tracking mechanisms for key operational processes and workflows
- Create predictive analytics capabilities to enable proactive intervention and continuous improvement
3) Customer & Growth Analysis (25%)
- Develop customer-facing analytics supporting service level tracking and performance transparency
- Build segmentation and prioritization frameworks to support business growth initiatives
- Create operational efficiency metrics supporting scalability across customer segments
- Design analytics supporting customer retention and satisfaction measurement
- 1+ years of complex Excel VBA macros writing experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with SQL or ETL
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics or related field
- Experience working with Tableau
- Experience using very large datasets

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
