- About the Role: We are looking for a Shopify Tech Lead who can architect, develop, and lead the implementation of complex Shopify solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on expertise in Shopify Plus, app development, custom theme development, backend programming (NodeJS or Python), and integration with third-party systems (ERP, CRM, Payment gateways, etc.). You’ll lead a team of Shopify developers, collaborate with cross-functional teams (UI/UX, QA, BA, PM), and ensure timely, high-quality deliveries aligned with client goals. Key Responsibilities: · Lead end-to-end Shopify, Shopify Plus and Shopify for Enterprise development projects — from requirement gathering to go-live. · Architect scalable and high-performing Shopify solutions with a focus on performance, SEO, and conversion. · Oversee and mentor the development team — perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure best practices. · Collaborate with the Sales team, Designers, BAs, and PMs to translate business needs into technical solutions, define architecture, provide an estimation and be able to give demos. · Develop custom Shopify apps, backend services (using NodeJS or Python), API integrations, and third-party service connections. · Manage Shopify migrations from other platforms like WooCommerce, Magento, or custom builds. · Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing Shopify stores. · Drive automation, reusability, and adoption of AI-driven tools for faster and better-quality output. · Ensure compliance with security, performance, and accessibility standards. · Stay updated with new Shopify releases, Liquid updates, and eCommerce trends. Technical Skills Required: · Strong expertise in Shopify, Shopify Plus, and Liquid templating language. · Experience in custom theme and app development (public and private). · Proficiency in any one backend technology — NodeJS or Python (NodeJS preferred). · Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, and REST/GraphQL APIs. · Experience with Shopify API integrations (ERP, CRM, Payment, Shipping). · Familiarity with Headless Commerce and frontend frameworks (ReactJS, Next.js) is a plus. · Knowledge of Shopify CLI, GIT, Azure DevOps, and deployment pipelines. · Experience in optimizing Shopify SEO, site speed, and conversion tracking. · Understanding of Shopify Storefront API and Hydrogen framework (preferred). · Good understanding of Shopify Apps ecosystem and marketplace submission guidelines. . Vibe coding, AI based development, should be required Leadership & Soft Skills: · Proven ability to lead and mentor a small to mid-sized team. · Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. · Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with clients and stakeholders. · Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities. · Eagerness to learn new technologies, adapt to evolving tools, exploring AI-assisted development and drive innovation.
