Business Analyst: Plastic Engineering

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and industry-aware Business Analyst with a background in Plastic Engineering to support product innovation, market analysis, and operational efficiency. This role bridges technical expertise in plastics with strategic business decision-making, enabling data-driven solutions across manufacturing, R&D, and customer-facing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and competitive analysis in the plastics and polymer industry.
• Analyze trends in raw materials, technologies, and product development (e.g., injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming).
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and sales teams to align business goals with technical capabilities.
• Identify and assess new business opportunities in plastic product development or sustainable materials.
• Prepare business cases, ROI models, and feasibility studies for new products or process improvements.
• Evaluate supplier and customer data to enhance supply chain and operational efficiencies.
• Track industry regulations, standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM), and sustainability trends impacting the plastics sector.
• Generate reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management.
• Support pricing strategies based on cost modeling and market demand.
• Assist in project management and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Plastic Engineering / Polymer Technology / Mechanical Engineering with plastics specialization.
• 2–5 years of experience in business analysis, product management, or a technical-commercial role in the plastics industry.
• Strong understanding of plastic materials (e.g., PP, PE, PET, PVC), processing methods, and industry applications.
• Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of business frameworks (SWOT, PESTLE, Porter's Five Forces).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of sustainability, recycling, or biodegradable plastics is a plus.
• Experience working in manufacturing, automotive, packaging, or consumer goods industries preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
