The city of Las Vegas invites applications for Business Applications Analyst. This position facilitates and participates in complex Innovation and Technologies (IT) projects relative to assigned area of responsibility. Leads, oversees and participates in the analysis, design, enhancement and implementation of new and existing programs, processes and systems. Provides responsible technical, analytical and administrative support to the assigned supervisor and higher level management.
The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list for current and/or future openings which may include part-time or full-time positions.

Supervision Received And Exercised
May act as a lead worker, exercising functional or technical supervision, including scheduling and assigning tasks, providing guidance, ensuring work is completed according to proper procedure, monitoring work progress, and reviewing results.
May act as a formal supervisor, exercising direct supervision including monitoring and formally evaluating employee performance, and participating in the selection and discipline of employees.

Experience
Four years of increasingly responsible administrative and analytical experience preferably within a local government environment. Two years of lead or supervisory experience is desirable.
Training
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in information systems, business administration, public administration or a related field. May substitute a combination of equivalent education and related experience. The city assesses 1.5 years of fulltime experience as equivalent to one year of education.
License or Certificate
Professional certification in area of assignment is desirable.
Possession of Project Management Professional certification, or equivalent certification, is desirable.
Knowledge of
When assigned to the Oracle application: Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle workflow, Oracle alerts, Oracle applications framework for extension and personalization of self service applications, the technical and functional integration between Oracle modules, Oracle modules including but not limited to human resources, payroll, time and labor, employee self service, learning management, advanced benefits and Oracle business intelligence enterprise edition (OBIEE).
ERP systems and their modules, possibly including but not limited to workflow, customer service, land development, business licensing, work orders, asset management, vehicle maintenance and mobile services.
Principles of lead or full supervision training and performance evaluation, depending on assignment.
Modern principles and practices of management and administration for the user area of assignment.
Research and data analysis methods and techniques.
Principles and practices of applicable area of specialization.
Pertinent federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations.
The technical and functional integration between city enterprise software application modules. Depending on assignment, may include software used by outside agencies.
Intermediate principles and techniques of computer programming, on-line programming and programming documentation.
Concepts, principles and practices of modern computer science or information systems.
Intermediate computer testing techniques and methodologies.
Pertinent programming languages at an intermediate level.
One or more on-line report writing applications.
Principles and practices of database design and administration.
Principles of budgeting and accounting.
