Business Architect

Overview:
Acuity, Inc. seeks a Business Architect to support enterprise IT project management and business analysis initiatives by defining, aligning, and maturing business architecture across a high-volume portfolio of concurrent efforts within a federal financial regulatory environment. This role works closely with program teams and stakeholders to translate strategic and operational objectives into structured business views, ensuring traceability from strategy through execution. The Business Architect maintains an enterprise perspective across processes, capabilities, data, governance, and enabling technologies, identifies structural inefficiencies and cross-functional gaps, and drives improvements that enhance organizational alignment, modernization outcomes, and delivery performance.

  • Develop and apply structured business architecture approaches to capture current and future state views, including capabilities, processes, value streams, and organizational models
  • Align business architecture artifacts to strategic and tactical objectives, ensuring traceability across initiatives, requirements, and delivery workstreams
  • Maintain an enterprise-wide view of business operations, including processes, capabilities, data, governance structures, and enabling technologies
  • Support business process improvement and re-engineering efforts, including process modeling, requirements definition, and alignment to modernization and automation initiatives
  • Identify structural inefficiencies, functional interdependencies, and cross-silo redundancies, and recommend actionable improvements
  • Consolidate disparate business information into integrated models and structured frameworks to support decision-making, prioritization, and delivery alignment
  • Develop model-based representations and artifacts to support analysis, planning, stakeholder communication, and implementation readiness
  • Support evaluation of solution effectiveness, including analysis of ROI, cost avoidance, and operational impact of process and technology changes
  • Collaborate with program teams to integrate business architecture with enterprise architecture domains, delivery activities, and organizational change efforts, including support for testing, rollout, and adoption
Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in business architecture, business analysis, or related enterprise transformation roles
  • Experience developing and maintaining business architecture artifacts and frameworks within complex, multi-stakeholder organizations
  • Demonstrated experience supporting business process modeling, requirements management, and business process improvement or re-engineering initiatives
  • Experience aligning business architecture to strategic objectives and integrating with enterprise architecture and IT delivery efforts
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex and disparate information into structured, actionable insights
  • Experience supporting organizational change, modernization, or automation initiatives within enterprise environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field required
