The Business Developer plays a pivotal role in establishing and driving growth for ELM in the Sultanate of Oman. This externally focused position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic market entry plans, cultivating strong customer relationships, and building a robust pipeline. As a foundational member of our new team in Muscat, the Business Developer serves as both the face of ELM to Omani clients and a critical voice within the organization ensuring local market insights are leveraged to inform business decisions and fuel our expansion.
A key contributor in CRM opportunity and data management, the Business Developer provides the business with critical visibility into pipeline health and directly supports the development of an accurate sales forecast for strategic planning.
You Will Be Accountable For:
New Business Development & Customer Relationship Management (50%):

Proactively identify, prospect, and secure new clients and partners across key sectors in Oman.

Build and sustain long-term, strategic relationships with key customers, partners, and distributors.

Represent ELM at local industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to build brand presence and generate leads.

Own the customer relationship end-to-end, coordinating with internal technical and support teams to ensure resolution of client issues and high satisfaction.

Present market entry strategies, account plans, and growth roadmaps to Sales Leadership.

Design and implement targeted local campaigns to unlock growth potential in the Omani market.

Innovate and personalize engagement strategies to build trust and loyalty with a diverse client base.
Opportunity Qualification & Proposal Development (30%):

Evaluate and qualify new leads and opportunities based on strategic fit, resource requirements, and revenue potential.

Lead go/no-go analyses for new bids with clear, justified recommendations.

Align customer requirements with ELM’s diverse portfolio of services and solutions to ensure relevance and value.

Prepare and provide timely quotes and pre-sales support for standard service offerings.

Drive pursuit strategies for significant opportunities within Oman.

Collaborate with solution architects and subject matter experts at HQ to address complex client needs and craft compelling proposals.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Input (10%):

Monitor Omani market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to inform local strategy.

Gather and relay customer feedback to HQ to contribute to service development and marketing strategies.

Share competitive insights and local market intelligence with the Marketing and Strategy teams in Saudi Arabia.

Recommend new market approaches and potential service adaptations to enhance growth and profitability in Oman.
Reporting & CRM Management (10%):

Maintain accurate and up-to-date data for all leads, opportunities, and client interactions in the company CRM.

Conduct regular pipeline reviews to ensure forecast accuracy and visibility for management.

Participate in post-bid reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future processes.

Deliver weekly and quarterly sales reports to the Regional Manager, including performance-to-target and gap analysis.

Provide timely and accurate reporting inputs as required.
Qualifications & Experience:

Must be an Omani national.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, IT, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent industry experience will be considered).

Proven experience in business development, sales, or a client-facing role, preferably within the technology, digital services, or consulting sectors.

A strong understanding of the local Omani business landscape and established networks.

Working knowledge of sales funnel management and pipeline maintenance.

Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., SAP C4C, Salesforce) and data integrity best practices.

Willingness and ability to travel domestically within Oman as required by client needs.

Comfortable working in a dynamic, start-up environment within a larger corporation, demonstrating autonomy and initiative.

Flexibility to support customer needs during occasional evenings and weekends.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in Arabic and English.
