Business Development Analyst

Position Summary:

The Business Development Analyst transforms data into actionable insights that drive business development strategy, pipeline growth, and firm-wide sales performance. This role leads revenue and pipeline analytics, CRM reporting, and insight delivery to support strategic decision-making by business development and industry leaders. Operating as a key member of the Business Development Department, the Analyst partners cross-functionally with Marking and Innovation teams to ensure data is accurate, actionable, and aligned with firm growth priorities.

The firm has one available position in either Long Beach, CA, Austin, TX, Bellevue, WA, Portland, OR, Dover, OH, Atlanta, GA, or Cleveland, OH.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Revenue & Pipeline Analytics

  • Develop dashboards and reports focused on pipeline, win/loss, cross-sell, and client service.
  • Translate sales and business development (BD) questions into analytical models and visualizations.
  • Partner with business development leaders, sales teams, and marketing to ensure insights are understood, actionable, and tied to specific follow-ups or campaigns.

Sales Enablement & Insight Delivery

  • Support business development and sales users in interpreting dashboards, opportunity reports, and account plans in DealCloud CRM.
  • Create and maintain standard reports, scorecards, and views that industry leaders can use in pipeline reviews, account reviews, and leadership meetings.

CRM, Collaboration & Governance Support

  • Partner with the Innovation Team analysts and CRM owners to ensure alignment between analytics, data models, and CRM structures.

Continuous Improvement & Automation

  • Gather feedback from business development, sales, and marketing stakeholders on the usefulness and usability of analytics and tools.
  • Recommend improvements to dashboards, scorecards, and visual design to make it easier for sellers and BD professionals to take action.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring sales and BD analyses (pipeline reviews, forecast snapshots, campaign follow-up lists) and reduce manual entry and reporting.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong skills in data visualization and analytical reasoning, especially in revenue, sales, or BD context.
  • Working knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Power BI or similar)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational and follow-through skills, performing work accurately with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively prioritize a fast-paced and varied workload, effectively managing a variety of concurrent and shifting priorities
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, in particular with Excel
  • Ability to adapt to changing work demands with flexibility
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field plus at least 3-5 years of experience in analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or revenue/sales operations roles. Demonstrated experience with CRM administration and reporting (e.g. Salesforce, DealCloud) is required, including the ability to create reports, duplicate detection processes, workflows, and executive dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification in Salesforce administration or a comparable CRM platform. Prior experience at a professional services firm.

  • Compensation: $86,000 to $116,000 depending on experience. More is possible if experience dictates.
