Key Responsibilities of Business Development Head-Mining:
a. Business Development:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in coal mining, mineral exploration, core drilling, and allied services
- Leverage existing industry contacts with private coal companies, PSUs, mining contractors, and consultants
- Prepare and execute business development strategies aligned with company goals
- Lead tender identification, bidding strategy, and client negotiations
- Build long-term relationships with Coal India subsidiaries, private miners, EPC contractors, and exploration agencies
b. Marketing & Client Relations:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies for mining and exploration services
- Represent the company in industry meetings, mining conferences, and client discussions
- Strengthen brand positioning in the mining sector
- Coordinate with technical teams to prepare technical proposals, capability statements, and presentations
c. Technical & Commercial Coordination:
- Understand and communicate core drilling methods, core logging standards, exploration workflows, land acquisition and possession and mining operations
- Support pricing, cost estimation, and commercial decision-making
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming mining projects
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and mentor business development and marketing teams
- Work closely with top management on growth planning and expansion
- Drive revenue targets and ensure sustainable business growth
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Good experience in land acquisition and possession.
- Hands-on exposure to core drilling, core logging, and exploration projects
- Excellent industry networking and client acquisition skills
- Tendering, negotiation, and contract finalization expertise
- Strategic thinking with strong execution capability
- Communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Background:
- Engineering / Geology / Mining preferred
- Prior experience working with Coal India, private coal miners, exploration companies.
- Proven track record in revenue growth and project acquisition
