Job Summary:
The Business Development Director is responsible for driving adoption and expansion of Envestnet’s services and solutions across RIA clients. This role will develop and execute a territory sales strategy that promotes Envestnet’s comprehensive wealth management ecosystem, encompassing managed account administration technology, investment solutions, and business analytics. The ideal candidate is a proven enterprise builder with deep experience in the advisory business model and the ability to translate complex financial and technology solutions into meaningful client outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:

Lead sales of managed accounts (SMA/UMA/Strategist programs) and other Envestnet solutions including tax overlay, direct indexing, and related investment strategies to current Tamarac and Envestnet RIA clients.

Serve as a lead generalist—partnering with subject matter experts (SMEs)—to identify and close opportunities across Envestnet’s technology and investment ecosystem (trading, reporting, overlay, credit, insurance, and analytics).

Identify, recruit, and onboard new $100MM+ RIA firms to the Envestnet/Tamarac platform; drive managed account adoption and asset growth post-implementation.

Grow, develop, and retain RIA managed account assets across your territory.

Deepen Managed Account (MA) usage among TUMA/UMP users, with a targeted focus on smaller accounts and the long-tail segment.

Expand advisor engagement with Envestnet’s Financial Wellness Solutions suite, including Alternatives, Credit, and Insurance Exchange offerings.

Maintain consistent pipeline and sales management discipline within Salesforce, Calendly, Seismic, and related tools.

Operate with full adherence to Envestnet’s compliance, risk, and business continuity standards, ensuring timely completion of all training and affirmations.

Uphold Envestnet’s business practices and internal controls designed to drive value, minimize risk, and sustain long-term client trust.

Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.

As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.
Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in financial services, preferably in advisory platform or asset management sales.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Deep understanding of the RIA and advisory business model, including trading, reporting, and financial planning processes.

Broad knowledge of investment solutions and wealth management products, such as direct indexing, overlay, credit, and insurance.

Proven success developing and executing go-to-market strategies in the financial services or fintech space.

Demonstrated success managing a region, achieving sales targets, and cultivating long-term advisor relationships.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills with strong executive presence.

Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, navigate complex deal structures, and deliver win-win outcomes.

Willingness to travel up to 50- 60% within the assigned territory.

Salary:
The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $135,000.
This position is eligible for a variable pay based on a sales incentive plan.
