About the Role
SMC are hiring a dynamic, result-oriented, and highly motivated Business Development Lead (BDL) for our growing software house. This role is ideal for a sales-driven professional who has proven experience in generating international software projects through platforms like up work, LinkedIn, and direct outreach channels.
The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, excellent proposal-writing expertise, and hands-on experience in IT sales, SaaS solutions, Mobile Applications, AI services, and custom software development.
This is a pure “hunter” role focused on lead generation, client acquisition, business growth, and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities
International Lead Generation & Client Acquisition
- Generate high-quality international leads through up work, LinkedIn, cold emailing, and freelance marketplaces.
- Identify new business opportunities in:
- SaaS Products
- AI Solutions
- Mobile Applications
- Web Development
- Custom Software Solutions
- Conduct market research to identify client pain points and business requirements.
- Build long-term relationships with international clients and agencies.
Up work & Freelance Portal Management
- Manage company profiles on:
- Up work
- Freelancer
- Other platform’s
- Write professional, customized, and winning proposals.
- Maintain high response rates, Job Success Score (JSS), and profile rankings.
- Handle client communication professionally from proposal submission to project closure.
LinkedIn & Sales Outreach
- Utilize LinkedIn Sales Navigator for prospecting and social selling.
- Connect with CEOs, CTOs, founders, and decision-makers globally.
- Execute personalized outreach campaigns via:
- LinkedIn In Mail
- Cold Emails
- Email Automation Tools
- Use tools like:
- Apollo.io
- Hunter.io
- Snov.io
- Lemlist
- HubSpot CRM
Sales Pipeline & CRM Management
- Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Track leads, follow-ups, meetings, and closures using CRM systems.
- Conduct discovery calls and requirement-gathering sessions with clients.
- Coordinate with technical teams for estimations and project planning.
Proposal Writing & Deal Closing
- Prepare professional:
- Project Proposals
- Pitch Decks
- Cost Estimations
- Business Presentations
- Negotiate project scope, timelines, and pricing with clients.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Convert leads into long-term business opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (BSCS, BBA, MBA, BS IT, Software Engineering, or related field).
- Degree must be from a recognized and HEC-authorized university.
Experience
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in Business Development within the IT Industry or Software House.
- Proven experience in securing international software projects.
- Strong portfolio of successful up work or freelance platform projects.

Proposal Submission
- Submit high-quality customized proposals daily.
- Ensure proposals are professional, technically accurate, and client-focused.
- Follow proposal submission timelines and quality standards.
Client Communication
- Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Conduct follow-ups with prospects and existing leads.
- Schedule and conduct discovery calls with clients.
CRM Management
- Update CRM with lead status, meeting notes, follow-ups, and deal progress.
- Maintain complete and accurate sales records.
Team Coordination
- Coordinate with technical teams for project estimations and scope discussions.
- Ensure project requirements are clearly communicated internally.
Sales Pipeline Review
- Review lead pipeline and conversion progress.
- Analyze proposal performance and client responses.
- Discuss sales progress with management.
Market Research
- Research new IT trends, technologies, and international markets.
- Identify emerging opportunities in SaaS, AI, Mobile Apps, and Web Development.
Strategy Improvement
- Improve proposal templates and outreach strategies.
- Optimize LinkedIn and email outreach campaigns.
- Review competitor activities and market positioning.
Performance Reporting
- Prepare monthly reports on:
- Leads generated
- Proposals submitted
- Deals closed
- Revenue achieved
- Client retention
KPIs & Performance Metrics
- Number of qualified leads generated
- Discovery calls booked
- Proposal conversion ratio
- Monthly revenue targets achieved
