Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location: Dubai or Abu Dhabi, UAE


Job Purpose :

• The Business Development Manager (BDM) main task is to facilitate the growth and success of the business for which he works.

• Strategic planning for future development is the key task of the BDM. In this respect, the BDM supports the Regional Manager GES in defining the future addressable markets and business pipeline.

• Also, the BDM acts as an internal consultant to the Regional Manager on specific projects; these may cover strategy or implementation, core or support function excellence, and the end-to-end sales-to-operation chain.


Responsibility and Authority :

  1. Analyze markets and provide strategic directions on how to develop new business.
  2. Analyze market sectors and prospect clients to identify best business opportunities.
  3. Define and implement (in collaboration with LE-Marketing & division) plan to approach & capture client.
  4. Propose consulting projects inside LE.
  5. Lead consulting projects, by managing (dotted line) internal/external project teams.
  6. Report periodically to Regional Manager GES on project roll out.
  7. Transfer consulting knowledge and skills to internal staff.
  8. Support in defining strategic market positioning for the LE and its divisions.
  9. Lead internal consulting projects to improve the businesses of the LE.
  10. Work with management team to strategically identify & evaluate new markets and new clients.
  11. Identify and evaluate specific new profitable business opportunities.
  12. Receive priorities from TÜV SÜD central Business Development / Strategy, propose to CEO-LE.
  13. Monitor and support Regional Manager GES in steering the commercial funnel of the LE divisions.
  14. Initiate and complete proposals and presentation for new business opportunities.
  15. Work with internal teams to deliver outstanding presentation to capture profitable business opportunity.
  16. Provide market intelligence and analyses to Regional Manager GES to support decisions.
  17. Grow consulting skills in LE staff by training (on-the-job and specific session).
  18. Grow a team of BD/ internal consultants.


Education and Experience :

  1. University degree in Engineering and possibly an MBA from a top-tier Business School
  2. 10 years+ experience, out of which 5 years (or more) in Renewable Energy & Hydrogen business at strategic level within ME/ GCC countries preferably in TIC industry.
  3. Proven track record of developing new businesses.
  4. Proven experience in project managing change projects.
  5. A passion for developing business and a drive to succeed.
