A Business Development Manager (BDM) in the water treatment industry is responsible for driving growth, expanding market reach, and establishing new client relationships for water/wastewater treatment solutions, products, or services

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business growth strategies to increase sales, profitability, and market share in municipal, industrial, and commercial water treatment markets.​
  • Identify and pursue new client relationships through proactive outreach, networking, and market research, focusing on both direct sales and channel partners.​
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders: consultants, municipalities, industries, engineering firms, contractors, suppliers, and environmental agencies.​
  • Perform market studies and client research, monitor competitor activities, and assess potential opportunities based on regulatory changes, technology trends, and customer needs.​
  • Collaborate with internal technical and product teams to develop customer-specific proposals, case studies, and presentations.​
  • Manage the end-to-end commercial process from opportunity engagement and assessment, proposal development, and negotiation to closing deals and after-sales support.​
  • Attend relevant conferences, trade shows, and workshops to network and increase brand visibility.​
  • Generate, manage, and report on sales pipelines to achieve or exceed revenue targets and KPIs.​

  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related discipline.​
  • 5+ years proven experience in business development, sales, or account management—ideally in the water/environmental sectors.​
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, chemical solutions, and local/global regulatory environments.​
  • Technical sales, consultative selling, and proposal development skills.​
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.​
  • Willingness to travel locally/internationally as needed.
  • Go to Market attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From ₹70,000.00 per month
