About the Role :-

We are seeking a highly driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to spearhead sales and revenue growth in our freight forwarding and container freight station (CFS) operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics sales, international trade, and customer relationship management, with a deep understanding of import/export procedures, freight solutions, and CHA interactions.

In this role, you will be responsible for expanding our market presence, acquiring new customers, and nurturing existing client relationships to achieve business growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities :-

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, target, and pursue new business opportunities in freight forwarding, logistics, and CFS operations.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Proactively reach out to potential clients through networking, cold calls, meetings, and industry events.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with importers, exporters, freight forwarders, customs house agents (CHAs), and logistics partners.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their business needs and offering customized freight solutions.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through timely communication, issue resolution, and service excellence.

Market Research & Strategy

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and potential growth areas.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management to enhance business strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and deliver solutions that align with market demands and client expectations.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with operations, pricing, documentation, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Participate in negotiations and finalize commercial terms with clients and partners.
  • Contribute to product and service development based on client feedback and market dynamics.

Requirements :-

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics sales, or CFS operations.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping processes, import/export documentation, customs clearance, and CHA interactions.
  • Proven experience in B2B freight forwarding services and international trade solutions.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and respond to complex client needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events.

Preferred Skills :-

  • Existing client network within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Experience working with multinational clients or large-scale logistics projects.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, freight pricing structures, and international trade compliance requirements.
