Job Title: Business Development Manager – General Insurance

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) with a strong background in the insurance Broker industry. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of proven experience in insurance sales, with the ability to manage a client portfolio worth at least $1 million. This role focuses on acquiring new clients, nurturing long-term relationships, and driving sustainable revenue growth across general insurance lines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Acquisition & Portfolio Development
- Leverage existing networks to onboard clients with portfolios of $1 million or more.
- Identify, engage, and convert prospective clients to expand the company’s insurance portfolio.
2. Sales & Revenue Growth
- Consistently achieve and exceed sales targets by promoting general insurance products.
- Maximize revenue through effective cross-selling and up-selling strategies.
3. Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Act as a trusted advisor, delivering tailored insurance solutions aligned with client needs.
4. Market Research & Strategy
- Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and evolving client requirements.
- Collaborate with the sales team to design and execute strategic business development plans.
5. Coordination & Compliance
- Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless onboarding, policy issuance, and client servicing.
- Adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
6. Reporting
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, highlighting revenue progress and client engagement metrics.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years in business development, sales, or account management within the insurance industry.
- Portfolio Management: Demonstrated success in managing client portfolios of at least $1 million.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office Suite.
