An Interior Fit-Out Business Development Manager is responsible for growing revenue and winning projects for an interior fit-out company (commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, office, etc.). The role combines sales, client relationship management, market development, and coordination with design/operations teams.
Typical responsibilities include:
1. Business Development & Sales
- Identify and generate new business opportunities and project leads.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve sales targets.
- Build a pipeline of interior fit-out projects.
- Prospect through networking, referrals, cold outreach, events, and industry contacts.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, developers, architects, and contractors.
- Understand client requirements and translate them into commercial opportunities.
- Conduct meetings and negotiate contracts and commercial terms.
- Ensure high client satisfaction and repeat business.
3. Tendering & Proposal Management
- Review RFPs (Request for Proposal) and tender documents.
- Coordinate with design, estimation, and procurement teams to prepare competitive bids.
- Develop pricing strategies and commercial proposals.
- Support contract negotiation and project award processes.
4. Market Research & Strategic Growth
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and industry developments.
- Identify target sectors (office, retail, hospitality, healthcare, residential, etc.).
- Recommend expansion opportunities and strategic partnerships.
5. Project Coordination
- Act as the bridge between client expectations and internal delivery teams.
- Support project handover from sales to execution.
- Monitor progress and maintain client communication during execution.
6. Revenue & Performance Management
- Meet monthly/quarterly revenue and margin targets.
- Track KPIs such as:
- Lead conversion rate
- Bid win ratio
- Sales pipeline value
- Client retention
- Gross profit margin
7. Networking
- Represent the company at exhibitions, industry events, and networking functions.
- Strengthen company positioning and market visibility.
Requirements
- Experience in interior fit-out, construction, design, or project sales.
- Knowledge of fit-out lifecycle (design → estimation → execution → handover).
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Ability to read drawings, BOQs, and understand contracts.
- Knowledge of local construction and fit-out market.
