POSITION: Business Development Representative


REPORTS TO:
Director of Sales & Marketing

OBJECTIVE: Our Business Development Specialists are responsible for contributing to the success of our global organization in creating new opportunities for AV integration and AV managed services projects by identifying prospects, nurturing and qualifying leads, identifying key decision-makers and their business issues, and working collaboratively with Sales, BD, and Marketing teams on pipeline building activities.

The Business Development Manager will identify, establish, and engage leads and partners regionally to generate and sustain a pipeline of prospects to convert to Sales opportunities. This role focuses extensively on prospecting and networking to establish a solid foundation of new clients and partners. Primary responsibility is to consistency and aggressively prospect and close.


COMPENSATION:
Salary, exempt (non-hourly), Commission per Incentive Compensation Plan, monthly cell phone stipend.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research and identify suspects that fit an ideal client or Partner profiles and nurture to the opportunity stage.
  • Prospects for all Verrex services (Design, Integration, GMS) to deliver qualified leads into the Sales pipeline, meeting annual BD goals.
  • Develop own prospect list utilizing prospecting tools and engage assigned targets, documenting all engagement in CRM.
  • As needed and requested by Sales upon delivering a qualified lead, support Account Executives to close.
  • Must have the capability to comply with all safety rules and regulations required by clients for site visitation.
  • Build partner relationships (architect, GC, EC, real estate, etc.) in order to facilitate knowledge of immediate and upcoming projects to target.
  • Engage companies/contacts that meet Verrex core criteria in order to set up meetings to introduce Verrex services. Call on key contacts at target companies to assess and qualify their need for services.
  • Build relationships with senior executives (C-Level) to discuss strategic and operational challenges and effectively introduce Verrex.
  • Conduct onsite presentations to educate prospects and partners on Verrex services.
  • For lead generation, assist with campaigns, and event participation and follow-up.
  • Actively pursue and participate in networking activities with key associations, business groups, regional networking groups and industry associations. Build a personal networking channel for lead exchange.
  • Participate/attend various AV-industry related and other events to increase Company’s brand awareness and to create demand for Company’s services.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop tactics and programs to contact targets, secure appointments with targets, and maintain ongoing communication with targets.
  • Perform pre-call research to qualify leads.
  • Manage assigned prospect accounts, keeping contacts and account information current.
  • Ability to review bid documents (including specifications, drawings, equipment lists, and bulletins) to find relevant AV information for bid evaluation.


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Established network of existing partners and contacts in the metro area related to AV, structured cabling, construction/construction management, consultant, commercial real estate, and interior architecture.
  • Required: 3+ years of proven business development results in B2B professional services setting.
  • Required: Part of an existing (formal or informal) networking group for lead share, project intelligence, and champions.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional presence and professional tact.
  • Excellent follow up/follow through skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to be flexible, performing responsibilities not specifically identified in the job description and assuming new responsibilities as the company's needs change.
  • Ability to travel locally.
  • Must have the capability to comply with all safety rules and regulations required by clients for site visitation.
  • Experience working in CRM, Salesforce a plus.
  • Demonstrated performance in a commission or incentive-based compensation program.
