Business Development Representative - Manufacturing

We are seeking a motivated, professional, and highly organized Manufacturing Business Development Representative with_ direct experience in manufacturing, industrial, or engineered-products environments._ This role is responsible for identifying and researching target accounts, conducting outbound prospecting, generating early-stage customer interest, gathering preliminary opportunity information, maintaining disciplined CRM visibility, and transitioning qualified leads to the appropriate sales owner.

This is a_ top-of-funnel business development role_ designed to support pipeline creation and strategic account penetration in a B2B manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate understands how to engage OEMs and other industrial customers, gather early commercial and application information, and support growth in a specification-driven environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify, research, and prioritize target OEM, contract manufacturing, and Tier 1–3 accounts across approved industries, customer profiles, and geographies
  • Execute outbound prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn, referrals, trade associations, industry directories, and other approved business development channels
  • Secure introductory meetings, discovery calls, and meaningful early-stage conversations with prospective customers in manufacturing and technical markets
  • Gather preliminary opportunity details, including customer application, product or program need, estimated timing, expected volumes, drawings or specifications if available, and other relevant commercial information
  • Assess high-level strategic fit against target industries, customer profiles, and Paragon’s manufacturing capabilities
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and complete CRM records for prospecting activity, account and contact data, notes, next steps, and opportunity status
  • Prepare complete and actionable lead handoff packages and transition qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales owner for downstream review
  • Maintain a disciplined follow-up cadence to ensure viable opportunities are advanced and documented appropriately
  • Support reporting on outreach activity, target account penetration, lead development, and top-of-funnel pipeline performance
  • Provide market insight, competitive feedback, and customer intelligence to support commercial strategy and target-account planning
  • Represent Paragon professionally and credibly in all customer-facing and external interactions

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of business development, inside sales, lead generation, customer engagement, or related commercial experience in a manufacturing, industrial, engineered-products, electronics, wire harness, aerospace, medical device, defense, or similar B2B manufacturing environment
  • Experience prospecting into or supporting sales efforts with OEMs, contract manufacturers, or other industrial/manufacturing customers
  • Experience with outbound prospecting and early-stage customer engagement
  • Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Ability to gather, organize, and document commercial and opportunity information clearly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business systems
  • Self-starter with sound judgment, persistence, and professionalism

· Familiarity with build-to-print, specification-driven, or custom manufacturing environments is preferred

· Experience in cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electro-mechanical products, contract manufacturing, or closely related technical products is preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: $19.25 - $24 per hour, based on experience

Work Environment

  • Full-time, on-site role based in Everett, Washington
  • Primarily office-based within a manufacturing facility environment
  • Regular use of phone, computer, CRM platform, email, and other business systems
  • Frequent collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other internal teams
  • Occasional interaction with production areas, subject to applicable safety requirements
  • May involve attendance at customer meetings, trade events, or industry functions as needed
  • Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requiring organization, responsiveness, and professionalism

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer
  • Frequent use of a keyboard, mouse, and telephone
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing
  • May occasionally need to stand, walk, bend, reach, or move through office and manufacturing areas
  • Must be able to lift and carry light materials or equipment up to 15 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Must be able to travel locally or out of state as needed for customer visits, trade events, or business development activities
