Business Head – Medical Division (Pharmacy & Medical Distribution)

Position Summary

We are looking for a competent and entrepreneurial professional to lead the end-to-end establishment of our new Medical Division from inception. The role will drive project planning, regulatory approvals, facility setup, supplier onboarding, system implementation, and operational launch of a pharmacy retail outlet along with pharmaceutical wholesale and biomedical appliance distribution.

This position requires a hands-on leader capable of converting a business concept into a fully operational healthcare trading business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Business Establishment

  • Develop a complete execution roadmap for pharmacy and medical distribution setup.
  • Prepare feasibility inputs, capital expenditure estimates, and operational plans.
  • Coordinate site selection, layout planning, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Manage project timeline until commercial launch.

2. Licensing & Regulatory Setup

  • Identify all mandatory licenses and approvals for pharmacy retail and wholesale operations.
  • Coordinate with authorities and consultants to obtain regulatory approvals.
  • Establish documentation, quality standards, and compliance frameworks before launch.

3. Facility & Infrastructure Setup

  • Plan pharmacy layout, storage systems, cold chain requirements, and warehouse setup.
  • Support procurement of racks, refrigeration units, biomedical storage systems, and IT infrastructure.
  • Implement safety, temperature monitoring, and controlled storage systems.

4. Vendor Development & Product Portfolio Creation

  • Identify and onboard pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors, and biomedical equipment suppliers.
  • Develop initial product portfolio and pricing strategy.
  • Establish procurement contracts, credit arrangements, and supply agreements.

5. Systems & Process Implementation

  • Select and implement pharmacy ERP / inventory management system.
  • Develop SOPs for procurement, receiving, storage, retail dispensing, and distribution.
  • Implement batch tracking, expiry control, and recall procedures.

6. Pre-Launch Business Development

  • Build relationships with hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and institutional buyers.
  • Conduct market mapping and competitor analysis.
  • Develop branding, promotional activities, and customer acquisition strategy.

7. Team Formation & Training

  • Define manpower structure for pharmacy, warehouse, and sales.
  • Support recruitment of pharmacists and operational staff.
  • Establish training plans and operational guidelines.

8. Go-Live & Stabilization

  • Lead operational launch of pharmacy and distribution activities.
  • Monitor initial sales, inventory flow, and process adherence.
  • Resolve startup challenges and stabilize operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Pharmacy / Life Sciences / Biomedical / Business Administration.
  • 5–12 years experience in pharmacy retail, pharma distribution, or healthcare business setup.
  • Proven exposure to greenfield healthcare project execution preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and operational requirements in pharmaceutical trade.
  • 5-10 years local experience in oman.

Compensation Structure

Attractive salary package.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RO800.000 - RO1,500.000 per month
