Role Overview
The BI Analyst will play a pivotal role in helping MAPYR optimize operations, improve customer
experience (b2b and b2c), and drive profitability through data driven insights and strategic
recommendations. This position blends analytical, technical and business skills to asses retail
trends, customer behavior and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a key role cross functionally across sales, marketing operations and finance by
providing analytical insights linked to forecast accuracy, sales performance, margin
realization, promo performance, marketing ROI’s and other opportunities to maximize gross
profit and revenue. - Collect, analyze and provide insights on quantitative and qualitative data from multiple
sources (internal and external) related to sell in and sell out performance based on safety
stock levels, inventory position and year to go forecasts. - Review and provide scenario based results on tentative plans in relation to, pricing, margins,
GP and promotions. - Provide support and insights on cashflow modelling based on inputs from commercial and
operations. - Regular reporting on principle and customer performance linked to agreed joint business
plans. - Ensure JBP’s are correctly modelled based on agreed terms, performance through the YTG
- P+L with finance.
- Provide day to day analytical support to the sales, marketing, operations and finance.
- Develop reports, dashboards and visualization tools required through Power BI.
- Analyze internal workflows and recommend improvements to optimize processes.
Core Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience from an FMCG, retail or distribution background.
- Experience in previous roles must be from Finance or Business Administration roles.
- Demonstrable experience required, with a strong understanding of retail business processes and trends.
- Advanced analytical skills, including proficiency in data analysis, data modelling, and the use of tools such as Excel and Power BI.
- Experience with customer master data management, process documentation, and structured analysis techniques.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural and cross-functional teams, often in complex matrix environments. Experience with retail-specific systems (e.g., e-commerce platforms, inventory management) and familiarity with SQL or other data manipulation languages is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Business Administration or a related field is required.
