Do you have a passion for video games and data? Amazon Games is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Analytics team. The team is working on exciting initiatives, including new social party games, two upcoming Tomb Raider launches, and other projects across the games space.
In this role, you will work hands-on with in-game data, define key metrics, and surface insights as a data expert for our game portfolio. Working cross-functionally with game production, development, and business teams, you will turn game and player data into clear recommendations that influence game direction and strategic decisions.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end analytics framework for our game portfolio, including defining KPIs, building automated ETL processes, and creating dashboards that enable data-driven decision making
- Partner with game development teams to design and instrument telemetry, ensuring comprehensive and reliable data capture that supports analytics, reporting, and product decisions
- Conduct deep-dive analyses on player behavior and translate findings into actionable recommendations for game teams and leadership
- Build and maintain reporting mechanisms for internal and external partnerships across game development, platforms, marketing, and distribution
- Develop self-service reporting tools and documentation that enable stakeholders to independently access and interpret data
- Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership, through written documents and presentations
- Evaluate and adopt new technologies and methodologies to continuously improve the analytics platform and team capabilities
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- 3+ years of processing large, multi-dimensional datasets from multiple sources experience
- 3+ years of Tableau Desktop, Quicksight or other relevant data visualization software experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience in Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
