Job Purpose
The Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for driving data-led decision-making across the bank by designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade business intelligence and reporting solutions. The role involves analyzing large and complex datasets from core banking and related systems to build scalable data products that deliver actionable insights for business, risk, and regulatory functions. The incumbent will oversee BI platforms, application support, system customizations, and vendor management, ensuring solutions are secure, compliant with regulatory requirements, and aligned with the bank’s technology architecture. With strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities, the role supports digital transformation initiatives, optimizes IT investments, and collaborates with stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency, governance, and customer experience.
Banking Domain Experience
-
Experience in Business Intelligence, Data & Reporting, with hands-on exposure in banking.

Strong domain knowledge in retail banking, including customer data, transactions, digital & e-channels, branch/network operations, payments, and lending.

Experience working with core banking systems and related upstream/downstream systems.

Exposure to corporate banking, Islamic banking, risk, compliance, or regulatory reporting is an added advantage.

Familiarity with banking regulations, audit requirements, and data governance standards.
BI, Data & Reporting Skills

Strong expertise in SQL programming, data modeling, and ETL processes, preferably using SAP Data Services.

Proven experience in designing data models, schemas, and data warehouses to support enterprise BI and MIS reporting.

Hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools such as SAP BO, QlikView, OFSAA or similar enterprise BI platforms.

Ability to design and review interactive dashboards, management reports, and operational MIS.
Database, Performance & Security

Working knowledge of Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server, including database operations and optimization.

Strong understanding of query optimization, indexing, performance tuning, query profiling, and monitoring techniques.

Practical experience in data security, including role-based access controls, secure data handling, and compliance with banking standards.
Analytical & Functional Capability

Ability to analyze large and complex datasets, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and convert data into actionable business insights.

Strong capability to translate business requirements into BI solutions and manage reporting expectations with stakeholders.

Experience troubleshooting data, reporting, and performance issues with timely resolution.
Managerial & Delivery Skills

Proven experience managing and leading BI/data teams in a banking environment, including task allocation, performance monitoring, coaching, and day-to-day team supervision.

Strong people management capabilities, with experience in building team capacity, mentoring team members, conducting reviews, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage with business users, technology teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.

Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple deliverables and team workloads, ensuring timely delivery against project deadlines and business priorities.

Experience in defining, creating, reviewing, and maintaining business requirements, technical documentation, data dictionaries, BI standards, and governance artifacts to support consistency, quality, and audit readiness.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
Experience
At least 8 years solid experience in Business Intelligence and reporting systems, business analysis, application development and maintenance, Portfolio management and project management in a corporate environment with a sound knowledge of Banking and Financial Systems. Strong logical skills with critical thinking, proven abilities in strong team leadership and communication with problem solving attitude are required. Ability to manage projects, systems, vendors, budget allocation, expenditure and variances is essential.
