Role:
Responsible for approving the extension of credit and/or making recommendations to the person(s) making the final lending decisions on new, renewal and extension loans to approve or deny the extension of credit. Prior to making the credit decision or advising the person(s) making the final credit decision, the Credit Analyst conducts a complete credit analysis including gathering, analyzing, and interpreting all types of credit information on existing and prospective members. Reviews member accounts and portfolios to identify, evaluate and determine the appropriate course of action on potential credit quality issues in order to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss to Members Trust of the SWFCU.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
E 35%Lead & Execute Reviews: Independently assess complex credit and lending transactions, including underwriting processes, facility structures, and risk ratings
E 30%Reviewer in Charge: Manage review engagements, guide team members, evaluate findings, and draft final reports.
E 15%Risk Monitoring & Analysis: Monitor assigned credit portfolios, analyze trends, identify concentrations, and provide expert insights.
N 10%Reporting & Remediation: Complete all documentation, communicate results, and follow up on findings with business leaders.
E 5%Portfolio Insight: Offer in-depth analysis of risk patterns and credit performance across Commercial segments.
E 5%Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1. To provide accurate predictions of credit risks and trends over the short term, allowing the credit union to make changes that will limit future losses.
2 .To monitor lending procedures so that the Credit Union suffers no losses due to non-compliance.
3 .For the credit union to receive acceptable ratings for loan quality from regulator examination, with no repeat findings.
4. To maintain knowledge of the Credit Union's loan standards and governmental regulations.
5. To have zero loans identified during the annual Credit Union exam as being out of compliance.
6. To maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers.
7. To proactively seek to cross sell products and services for the betterment of the member.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Five to ten years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills Work involves motivating and influencing other leaders and stakeholders to accomplish key organizational objectives. External contacts are vital, not only for the success of the position, but the success of the organization overall. Work involves making material presentations to the Board of Directors, community leaders, and business leaders.
Other Skills Experience in all aspects of lending including real estate, commercial, and consumer. Requires a degree in business, preference for economics. Capable of operating spreadsheets and word processing programs. Must have good communication skills.
