Position Summary
The Business Manager is a founding member of Restore TECH Academys leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all business and administrative operations of the school. This role ensures financial integrity, operational efficiency, and full compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
The Business Manager serves as an operational partner to Restore TECH Academys Superintendent and Chief Growth Officer, leading people and systems to ensure the school runs smoothly and effectively. This is a full time, exempt position reporting to the Superintendent of Restore TECH Academy.

Responsibilities
- Finances and Accounting
- Implement and maintain finance and accounting procedures aligned with Board policies.
- Oversee payroll processes in partnership with the nonprofit partner and third-party back-office provider.
- Ensure all contractual financial obligations are met accurately and on time.
- Support the development and ongoing management of the schools budget.
- Maintain accurate financial records and reporting in partnership with the nonprofit partner and third-party back-office provider to ensure compliance and inform decision-making.

Operations and Administration
- Lead and supervise office staff and business operations, including onboarding, training, and performance management.

Manage the Registrar/PEIMS Clerk, ensuring accuracy in student records, enrollment, and lottery processes.

Oversee procurement of goods and services.

Ensure high standards for building operations, including maintenance, safety, cleanliness, and vendor management.

Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external operational partners, including Finance, HR, IT, Development, and Facilities.

Maintain accurate staff and student records and oversee the master schedule.

Manage the school calendar and coordinate logistics for events and key initiatives.

Ensure all school operations comply with applicable local, state, and federal requirements.

Research, develop, and implement policies and procedures to maintain compliance and operational excellence.

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, business management, or a related field required. Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience required. Supervisory experience required.
- Experience in a nonprofit or school environment preferred.
Knowledge and Skills

- Strong proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and data with accuracy.

- Demonstrated leadership skills, including supervising staff, delegating work, coaching team members, and improving systems.
- Working knowledge of employee benefits, compensation, and school operations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, families, and external partners.

Schedule
- Full-time, approximately 230 workdays, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required during peak enrollment and reporting periods. Some evenings and weekends may be required to support school events and operational needs. Schedule is subject to change based on school needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Estimated annual salary range: $60,000-$70,000, based on experience and education.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Must possess a valid Class C Texas Drivers License or obtain one within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Work requires visual acuity, speech, hearing, and manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Duties include sitting, standing, walking, bending, and twisting as needed to perform essential functions.
