Responsibilities:

• Answer residents and family’s questions regarding verification of and application process for Medicare/Medicaid benefits.
• Attend Medicare/Medicaid meetings to determine any change in payor sources.
• Handle invoices for each resident.
• Determine when a resident’s bill will no longer be paid by Medicare/Medicaid.
• Verify insurance for all residents in order to maintain continuous coverage.
• Keep informed of changes in room assignments.
• Complete billing reports at the end of each month.
• Attend operations meetings.
• Audit charts for admission agreement.
• Communicate with front office, Admission Coordinator, Therapy Department, and Nursing Department concerning billing issues.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent minimum required.
• Associates Degree in a related field highly preferred.
• 2+ medical insurance billing experience required.
