What you will be doing:

The Business Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operational, financial, and administrative functions across all facilities, programs, and sites. This role ensures compliance with institutional policies, supports campus operations, and provides customer service to students and external partners.

Financial & Accounting Coordination

  • Insurance Management: Ensure all vehicles, trucks, and trailers are properly insured and ID cards are current
  • Fixed Assets: work with the SDI Accounting office to maintain accurate fixed asset records, complete quarterly inventories, and validate insurance coverage
  • Banking & Cash Deposits: Coordinate local campus cash deposits and manage banking transactions
  • Accounts Payable: submit accurate vendor setup requests and collect required documentation
  • Credit Card Coordination: support local cardholders with accurate GL coding for transactions

Bursar/Student Accounts

  • Process charges, payments, and ledger adjustments in the system of record
  • Provide customer service to students regarding ledger questions
  • Manage past due balances with outreach via phone, email, and registration holds
  • Agency Billings: Coordinate enrollment documentation for workforce agencies, nonprofits, and state-funded programs. Determine funding breakdowns in collaboration with SDI Corporate Compliance.

Payroll & Timekeeping

  • Work with SDI Payroll and campus management to ensure timecards are submitted and approved by deadlines

3rd Party Financing and VA SCO

  • Review third-party funding applications
  • Notify SDI Accounting of approvals to ensure accurate processing
  • Campus VA certifying official and be the point of contact for VA students

Records and Files

  • Maintain and update WI student record cards
  • Coordinate MN and WI education training provider lists

Requirements:

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Three years or more experience in business operations, accounting, or financial management
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial systems
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across diverse operational functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with accounting/ERP systems
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across departments and with outside agencies to achieve shared goals
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
