Business Operations Manager - Manufacturing Operations, Lunar

As part of a hardworking, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for leading a team of Product and Site Integrations supporting the Manufacturing Operations team for Lunar Permanence in Merritt Island, FL. This includes building and leading a skilled, interdisciplinary team, responsible for planning and execution of a variety of project supporting Lunar Permanence Manufacturing sites, New Product Introduction for each of our vehicles (MK1/MK2/Transporter/Core Components), the execution of the business rhythm and reporting to integrate with the broader Blue Operations Team and with the Lunar Permanence Program. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability .to communicate the vision, strategy and tactical application of cost-effective strategies and key deliverables. This role will have the opportunity to build and scale a diverse team that will support all of our manufacturing operations leaders to achieve the mission of Lunar Transporter and deliver for our external customers. You will report directly to the Vice President of Lunar Manufacturing Operations at Blue’s Lunar Plant 1 facility. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Position Overview
The Business Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing operational processes to ensure business objectives are met efficiently and effectively. This role serves as a critical link between executive leadership and operational teams to implement strategies, drive continuous improvement, and enhance organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Site and Operations Integration teams
Lead the development and implementation of operational strategies that support business goals
Establish and mature weekly/monthly/quarterly reviews, KPIs/dashboards, status reporting, risk/issue management, decision logs, and executive readouts.
Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency
Manage operational budgets, track performance metrics, and prepare regular reports for leadership
Coordinate cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive operational excellence
Proactively remove roadblocks and escalate risks to maintain and increase deliverable quality while improving overall performance.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices
Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment of operational activities with business objectives
Oversee facility management and logistics operations as needed
Identify and implement technological solutions to enhance operational performance
Lead and develop a team of operations staff, providing mentorship and guidance
Hire, onboard, coach, and mentor a diverse team; set clear goals and cultivate a safety-first, high-ownership culture.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in operations management or similar role with a record of process improvement and efficiency
Proven track record of implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiency
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making abilities
Experience managing budgets and financial reporting
Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience with operational management software and ERP systems
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
Exceptional written and verbal communication; ability to build trust across levels and functions.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Business Administration or related field
Experience in aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or complex hardware production.
Demonstrated change management experience (e.g., Prosci or equivalent).
NPI leadership and multi-site operations experience.
Background in the industry relevant to the hiring company
