Business System Analyst performs duties related to the implementation, management, maintenance, enhancement, support, and decommission of critical organization’s software systems. Business System Analysts consults with stakeholders to gather and define requirements, configure, and implement new systems and/or enhance existing systems, write, and execute plans, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues, deliver training and guidance to end users and system/service owners, develop and maintain system documentation, and prepare reports to enhance strategic business decisions.
Business Systems Analysis and Build (40%)
Design and facilitate requirements workshops, user research sessions, and collaborative design sessions. Establish and foster good working relationships with business partners, stakeholder groups, and fellow team members, providing ongoing communication and check-ins.
Document functional requirements, user interaction requirements, non-functional requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria to support software development, quality assurance, support and learning materials, and other downstream development support processes.
Use agile methodologies to break complex feature requirements into manageable chunks of system build work that will deliver value to the end user at a rapid pace.
Use the vendor’s proprietary software system tools to build and configure features and modules that meet the organization’s business needs.
Adhere to quality assurance standards by following standard testing and quality assurance efforts when changes are made to software systems.
Utilize techniques for assessing root cause analysis and value stream mapping to assure focus is on the issues that can affect positive change and add business value most directly.
Manage a process to structure, organize, and prioritize analysis and build efforts to ensure work efforts align with user expectations.
Work with vendors to ensure standard system configurations and custom application development appropriately meet business requirements.
Data Analysis and Reporting (25%)
Drive data driven decision making using data analysis, reporting, and BI.
Analyze data to create reports and data visualizations, such as charts, graphs, and dashboards, to present complex data in an understandable format.
Based on data analysis, provide reports to leadership to support decision-making processes within the organization.
Use data to analyze and understand business problems, identify opportunities for improvement, and propose data-driven solutions.
Translate business requirements into reporting frameworks and technical definitions for development and ongoing enhancement of data collection and management.
Use querying tools and languages such as T-SQL to analyze data to inform business decisions, validate system behavior, and aid in QA of data.
Support and Training (20%)
Create training documentation to support new system features or changes in workflows.
Occasionally provide trainings and presentations on new products/features.
Respond to service requests, resolving issues and documenting root cause and problem resolution knowledge base items.
Make configuration changes and updates to systems in support of problem tickets or service change requests.
Administer and support a select set of business information systems.
Contribute to project plans based on effort estimates, time, skills, and capacity.
Prioritize work efforts and maintain organization of project tasks.
Identify and log project risks and issues.
Manage competing stakeholder project priorities to ensure the highest value is being delivered to the organization in an appropriate timeframes.
Escalate project issues to managers as appropriate.

Fluent knowledge of MS Visio, PowerPoint, MS Office Suite, and T-SQL.
Solid working knowledge of tools and techniques used for requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation.
Strong, demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, to include fostering a shared understanding of requirements, successful conflict resolution, group facilitation and status reporting.
Demonstrated proficiency in planning and requirements management.
Ability to manage small to large scale change management initiatives.
Exceptional communication skills including being an active listener, empathetic, confident, clear, and concise, honest, and approachable, and able to scale communication to an audience of one to hundreds of people.
Ability to work well with others. Demonstrated ability to interact positively with teammates and all assigned enterprises.
Ability to work in a multi-culture environment, understands the social and cultural context of the patients at the didgwalic Wellness Center. Understands the role of trauma, historical, community, family, and personal experience in wellness and recovery.
Understands and adheres to state (RCW, WAC) and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR part 2).
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or another technology related degree required.
Minimum 5 years of experience performing progressively more complex and responsible BA tasks.
Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
General understanding of patient privacy rules and compliance in the field of healthcare.
Experience supporting electronic healthcare systems.
Experience using Epic in one of the following roles: subject matter expert, super-user, or analyst.
Experience working with Netsmart’s myEvolv or other software products.
