What You'll Do

The Business Systems Analyst provides critical services to Ross IT and its clients, leading activities to understand and document our customer's processes and software requirements, as well as maintain and improve the quality of data used by multiple software systems across Ross. The position requires understanding and applying business analysis best practices, and attention to detail to ensure data systems efficiency and productivity. This Business Analysis portion of this position will work with multiple units and software systems used across Ross; data analysis is primarily with data produced and used by the Ross School's Salesforce instance, but will also work with data produced and used by other Ross systems. The position will focus initially on Salesforce projects, and will report to the Director of Application Services as part of the Ross Information Technology department.

Responsibilities*

Project Requirements, Data Analysis & Management

  • Lead meetings with stakeholders to understand business needs, document processes, and identify root causes/gaps.
  • Recommend process improvements and produce project documentation (briefs, use cases, workflows, wireframes, business rules, acceptance criteria).
  • Partner with business and technical teams to evaluate solution options, validate against requirements, and design optimized workflows.
  • Define project milestones, create visuals for proposed solutions, and track progress through developer and customer meetings.
  • Develop and execute software test plans, coordinate user acceptance testing, and ensure project requirements are met.
  • Serve as liaison between business units and IT, using reports, presentations, and email to align technical and non-technical staff, build relationships, manage expectations, and resolve conflicts.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Facilitate Lessons-Learned meetings post-deployment, document results, and share with development teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date departmental application and process documentation as systems and workflows evolve.
  • Support stakeholders during organizational/system changes by contributing to training materials, communication plans, and user adoption strategies.

Training & Skills Development

  • Expand technical and leadership skills through training and learning opportunities.
  • Mentor and support colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent combination of education / experience
  • Experience in requirements gathering and process analysis
  • Technical ability with Microsoft Excel, Google G-Suite, and similar tools
  • Proficiency with design and diagramming tools such as Lucidchart, Microsoft Visio, and Draw.io
  • Experience with project management and tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps Boards
  • Understanding of Agile methodology and project management principles

Modes of Work

Additional Information

Salary Information:

The posting range for this position is $67,700 to $87,300. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
