Andelyn Biosciences is a biopharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) that specializes in advancing novel gene therapies from concept to commercialization. Located in Columbus, OH, the company operates out of the Andelyn Corporate Center (ACC) for clinical and commercial cGMP manufacturing of viral vectors and plasmids and the Andelyn Development Center (ADC) for preclinical non-cGMP activities.

The name “Andelyn” is a hybrid of two gene therapy patients who participated in pivotal Phase I clinical trials at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Andrew received the first U.S. investigational gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy in 2006. Evelyn received experimental gene therapy for spinal muscular atrophy in 2015. “Andelyn” combines their names to represent all the families who have courageously participated in the research that makes today’s gene therapies possible.

Employees are expected to perform the following essential functions under the framework of our ACCTSions.

The Systems Analyst Intern will receive meaningful experience as they work under the supervision of members of the Business Systems team (primarily Business Systems Consultant II) to assist with analyzing and implementing business requirements and objectives related to Andelyn computer systems. The Business Systems Analyst intern will assist in planning, designing, developing, validating, and maintaining systems & processes to support business operations.

What you will do.

• Collaborate with the Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) team and project stakeholders to define needs and achievable solutions and/or justifications to system requirements.
• With guidance from DTS colleagues, analyze business processes, user requirements, and system documentation to define, develop, and implement possible solutions or improvements to system functionality and capabilities.
• Interface with business users and technical development teams to deliver solutions.
• Learn the complex business processes of the systems supported.
• Lead the charge in going paperless! You’ll help convert manual processes into dynamic, data-driven electronic processes in Tempo MES, making operations faster, cleaner, and smarter.
• Assist with developing an AI Agent using preferred platforms
• Assist with developing business dashboard and reporting tools using organizational data from the Data Warehouse
• Define and document user requirements, functional and technical specifications, installation scripts, test plans, unit tests, integration tests and regressions test scripts.
• Train end users on the system and proper functionality of applications.
• Give an end-of-summer presentation to the organization describing your experience at Andelyn

• Perform duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and techniques.

What you bring to the team.

• Undergraduate level student at an accredited University.
• Majors include Computer Science/Engineering (CSE), Computer &Information Sciences (CIS), Information Systems, Statistics, or other similar majors required.
• Basic understanding of, or experience with, reporting and dashboarding solutions.
• Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence principles and theory.
• Intermediate or higher level of knowledge and/or experience in computer programming (Java, Python, etc.).
• Knowledge and/or experience with one of the following: system administration, systems applications, systems architecture, and technical requirements analysis.
