Role Purpose

The SCADA Business Unit Lead is responsible for building, scaling, and owning the SCADA & Industrial Automation business, including strategy, revenue growth, delivery excellence, and team capability development.
This role carries full P&L responsibility and acts as the executive interface with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities1. Business & Strategy Ownership

• Define and execute the SCADA business unit strategy aligned with company growth objectives
• Build a clear service portfolio, including:
• SCADA system implementation
• Legacy system upgrades & migrations
• Operations & Maintenance (O&M) / AMC
• OT cybersecurity services
• Industrial IoT & analytics integration
• Own annual revenue targets, margins, and pipeline forecasting
• Identify and pursue new market opportunities (utilities, oil & gas, infrastructure, smart cities, manufacturing)

2. Commercial & Pre-Sales Leadership

• Lead SCADA-related RFP responses, bids, and proposals
• Define pricing strategies and commercial models (project-based, AMC, managed services)
• Support sales teams in technical-commercial negotiations
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs and technology vendors

3. Delivery & Governance

• Ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of all SCADA projects
• Establish delivery standards for:
• FAT / SAT
• Commissioning & handover
• SLAs & availability requirements
• Manage risks, claims, variations, and change control
• Oversee multi-vendor and subcontractor environments

4. Technical Oversight (Not Hands-On Coding)

• Provide technical leadership across SCADA platforms such as:
• Siemens (WinCC, TIA Portal)
• Schneider (EcoStruxure)
• Rockwell (FactoryTalk)
• AVEVA / Wonderware
• GE iFIX / CIMPLICITY
• Ignition SCADA
• Ensure best practices in:
• Industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, DNP3, Profibus/Profinet, BACnet)
• OT-IT convergence (cloud, data historians, analytics)
• OT cybersecurity (IEC 62443 principles)

5. Team & Capability Building

• Build and scale the SCADA organization (engineers, leads, PMs)
• Define roles, skill matrices, and career paths
• Drive knowledge transfer, documentation, and standardization
• Reduce single-person dependency and improve delivery resilience

6. Stakeholder & Client Management

• Act as the executive point of contact for government entities, utilities, and industrial clients
• Build long-term trusted relationships
• Represent the company in steering committees, executive reviews, and escalations

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, or related field
• Master’s degree or MBA is a plus

Experience

• 7–10+ years in SCADA / Industrial Automation / OT
• Proven experience leading a business unit or practice
• Demonstrated P&L or revenue ownership
• Experience delivering large-scale industrial or government projects
• GCC experience strongly preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR7,000.00 - QAR12,000.00 per month
