SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Ability to speak, write and read in English.
- 6 months customer service experience.
- 6 moths food and beverage knowledge.
Flexible scheduling availability.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must have basic knowledge on food and beverage preparations, service standards, Hilton quality assurance standards, guest relations etiquette.
- Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items
- Ability to read, speak and write the English language in order to communicate with guest
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise transport up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basis • Ability to move or push goods on hand cart weighing up to 100 or more lbs.
- Ability to operate coffee brewers, tea brewers, panini pressers and toast equipment
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Average Percent of Time
15 % Uses POS system to create checks for sales in the store. Performs cashier duties
30 % Prepares and collects items for multiple orders according to prescribed standards and in anticipation of incoming orders including retrieving condiments, paper supplies etc. Serves guests with beverages and replenish as necessary. Assist server with food and beverage service to ensure guest satisfaction.
15 % Carries bags up to 30 lbs. and delivers orders to guests in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction. Presents tallied check to guests.
15 % Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
10 % Assembles food orders, visually inspecting to ensure completeness i.e. food, beverages, condiments and paper products
15 % Cleans restocks storage areas, rotates and maintains appropriate inventory levels of necessary items. Returns condiments and other equipment to proper storage areas.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
- Respond to guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction and information as requested. • Handles financial transactions accurately. Takes food and beverage order and inputs into POS systems in accordance with established procedures.
- Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to safety/security department.
- Side work requirements for position to include but not limited to:
- Mise-en-place of all items, including paper, plastic, china, silverware and glasses for the Grab and Go and executive lounge areas paper and plastic items (i.e.: cups, cutleries)
- Mise-en-place place of delivery items (bags, napkins, cart)
- Mise-en-place of condiments
- Mise-en-place of amenity items (traditional style)
- Daily requisitions based on inventory
- Taking inventory with inventory sheet by area
- Set up order bags including all items needed (beverages, soup, condiments, pre-packed items, etc.), except items being cooked a la minute and coming from the kitchen.
- Retrieving food from the kitchen once ready
- Check orders for accuracy before delivery
- Delivering orders to rooms or to guests that pick up
- Delivering amenities (when needed)
- Picking up amenity supplies after use from guestrooms (as needed)
- Covering for other stations during co-worker’s break (as needed)
- Maintain the fridges stocked with beverages and all needed supplies
- Report guest concerns and contact manager for follow-up
- Maintain cleanliness and organization standards for each station and all guest service areas including seating areas where guests may consume F&B
- Performs any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
