Butler and House Manager

Job Summary:
The Butler is responsible for providing high-level personal service to the employer and their guests, ensuring a well-organized and efficient household. This role encompasses various tasks, including housekeeping, event coordination, guest hospitality, and logistical arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Housekeeping:
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all household areas.
  • Supervise maid and cleaning staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, and laundry.
2. Event Organization:
  • Plan and coordinate events, such as formal dinners, parties, and gatherings.
  • Manage guest lists
  • Arrange catering services, entertainment, and decorations as needed.
3. Guest Preparation:
  • Prepare guest rooms and common areas for overnight visitors.
  • Ensure guest amenities are stocked and presented tastefully.
  • Provide a welcoming atmosphere for guests upon arrival.
4. Snack Preparation:
  • Prepare and serve snacks, refreshments, and beverages for both guests and family members.
  • Maintain a well-stocked pantry and kitchen for quick meal and snack preparation.
5. Grocery List Management:
  • Create and manage grocery lists based on household needs and preferences.
  • Coordinate grocery shopping and stock pantry and refrigerator items.
6. Logistics Arrangement:
  • Schedule and manage appointments, travel arrangements, and transportation for the family and guests.
  • Oversee logistics for events, including vendor coordination and equipment setup.
7. Communication:
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the household and external vendors or service providers.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all aspects of the job.
8. Additional Duties:
  • Assist with meal preparation and serving during family meals and events.
  • Provide personal assistance to household members as needed.
  • Stay informed about household preferences and special requests.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in household management or as a butler.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and discretion at all times.
  • Knows how to work excel.
Working Conditions:
  • Must be flexible with working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Physical stamina for managing various household tasks.
