Buyer

Position Summary

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electronic components, goods, materials, and services to meet the company’s operational requirements. This role ensures continuity of supply while balancing price, quality, and delivery. The Buyer will work closely with internal teams and customers, maintaining a strong on-site presence to support collaboration and customer focus initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

· Source, negotiate, and purchase materials and services in alignment with company requirements.

· Actively participate as a member of assigned Customer Focus Teams, partnering with Program Managers (Sales) and Production Managers.

· Maintain regular on-site presence to support collaboration, attend customer calls / meetings.

· Review MRP output and take appropriate actions. Place and expedite orders. Schedule deliveries to manage inventory levels.

· Manage purchases to reduce PPV and control excess inventory.

· Manage supplier relationships to meet expectations for price, delivery, lead times, and quality

· Approve invoices for payment as needed.

· Gather quotations, analyze bids, and negotiate purchases.

· Execute corporate guidelines in purchasing high-value items.

· Provide reports to management as required.

· Assist in driving continuous improvements in procurement processes.

· Ensure effective communication across all company functions.

Qualifications

Education: AAS in Business Administration or equivalent experience.

Skills & Experience:

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Proficiency with PC applications (spreadsheets, etc.).

· Proficiency with ERP / MRP applications like Epicor / SAP / Oracle.

· Excellent math, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

· Ability to reason through step-by-step processes.

· Thorough understanding of electronic assembly processes.

· Self-motivated and detail-oriented.

· Other Requirements:

· Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien.

· Ability and willingness to work on-site during standard business hours, with flexibility for customer/team needs.

Work Environment

This is an on-site position located in Victor, NY. The Buyer will be expected to work primarily from the office to support cross-functional collaboration and customer-facing initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Projected Total Compensation: $55,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
