**Experience Purchasing in a Similar Industry (Nutraceuticals / Dietary Supplement Manufacturing) Highly Preferred for this Role.

Position Summary: Research, negotiate, and purchase materials, products, and services through appropriate processes to support the manufacturing business.

• Build strong relationships with existing and potential vendors for raw materials and packaging products and services.
• Negotiate with vendors for best combination of quality, pricing, delivery, payment and service.
• Evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
• Responsible for purchasing negotiated materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors.
• Create RFQ/RFP to gather information and qualify suppliers. Send Supplier Questionnaire/Quality Agreement to vendors and forward completed questionnaires to QA for approval.
• Issue purchase orders for specific vendors and ensure accuracy of delivery versus POs issued.
• Establish contingency supply strategies where required.
• Perform regular follow up with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Perform routine supply chain analysis.
• Support plant production planning activities as needed.
• Collaborate with internal departments, and supervise the execution of restitution if vendor delivers non-conforming products or does not meet deadlines.
• Maintain effective communication channels internally and externally.
• Estimate values of products according to knowledge of market price.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or another related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in sourcing, planning, purchasing or combination thereof in similar industry (Food, Pharma, Nutraceuticals, Cosmetics manufacturing) required.

Skills:

• Demonstrated skills in vendor negotiation and relationship building.
• Proficient in e-sourcing using the latest tools and technologies.
• Ability to work with pivot tables and logical functions in Excel (to quickly turn data into action).
• Strong MRP / ERP experience required; SAGE X3 is a plus.
• Experience interfacing with transportation and logistics companies is preferred
• Excellent follow-through skills is a must.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building-skills, with the ability to communicate up, down and across levels of the organization.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and various materials in a fast-paced cGMP environment.
• Previous purchasing experience in nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals and/or cosmetics manufacturing industry required.
