ROLE SUMMARY
The Buyer will be responsible for implementing the buy strategy for the assigned brand and building a product assortment that meets customer needs, maximizes profits, and drives the growth of the MAF Lifestyle business. The Buyer will support the General Manager - Merchandising in highlighting short and long-term strategic approaches, future growth opportunities, and areas of risk for the business with regards to product ranging, allocation, inventory, brand perception, pricing, and margin.

ROLE PROFILE

  • Strategic Buying & Planning: Develop and execute a profitable buying strategy aligned with brand and organizational guidelines, ensuring optimal product assortment and seasonal planning.
  • OTB Management: Manage and monitor Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets by store, category, and subcategory, maintaining spend within limits to maximize profitability.
  • Stock & Margin Control: Analyze in-season performance to balance stock, reduce loss of sales, and optimize margins through sell-through and markdown strategies.
  • Supplier & Vendor Relations: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and margins with vendors while maintaining profitable, contract-compliant supplier relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Planning, Finance, Operations, Logistics, and Digital teams to support financial and strategic goals.
  • Marketing & Launch Coordination: Collaborate with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and PR to drive promotions, in-store events, and consistent brand messaging.
  • Customer & Trend Insight: Leverage market trends, customer feedback, and store visits to guide buying decisions and enhance brand relevance.
  • Team Enablement & Training: Conduct seasonal product and trend training for store teams to enhance customer experience and ensure brand alignment.
